Default TST Teflon Protectant

I purchased a GMC Yukon and the dealer said that there will be a TST 5000 teflon protectant applied to the paint. http://www.tst5k.com/index.html Does anyone know anything about this product/process? They said that I won't have to wax the vehicle but if I do, the wax will be very hard to remove. I don't know much about this TST stuff other than what's on their website. I can still probably cancel the TST application and tell them just to buff/polish the Yukon. What does anyone think?

Thanks,
Brad

I would cancel and tell them to NOT touch the paint on my new car. Even a BRAND NEW car needs to be clay barred before you even wax it. I dont even like clear bras tho so I will just wax every 6 washes to keep my paint protected.

I personally would tell them not to apply the TST. I wouldn't want them to touch it ,they usually just scratch your car. I would want to do the buffing, waxing myself.

Wax will not protect the front of your car the same way a clear bra will.

The dealer said that they give the vehicle an acid bath to remove all contaminants and wax that's existing on the vehicle. I dunno what's better for the car??????

Ya but I've never seen a clear bra I couldent tell was there withen like 10 seconds in person so screw them. I'll just spent the grand they cost around here to repaint my front clip 2-3 times in the time I own the car.

Dealer Applied Protection = Added Dealer Markup.

Cancel it immediately if possible!

Sounds like you see the stereo shop install. My cars have the clear bra installed by a professional. You will not, and cannot tell they are there until you run your fingernail along the paint looking for them.

Cancel quick before they scratch your car. Check out this forum and Adams website. It has all the stuff you need to protect your paint and keep it looking clean.
