Default Strength of SSHR

I just spent the last 10 minutes searching, and couldn't really come up with anything...so I apologize if this has already been discussed. I am curious to know how abrasive/harsh the Severe Swirl and Haze Remover is with a Green Flex pad.

I hate to bring up other companies/products, but how would you rate it's cutting with say, Meguiars M105 compound(if anyone has experience with it)

I haven't purchased SSHR, Swirl & Haze Remover, or Fine Machine Polish yet, and I'm dying to buy them and try them out along with pads, but I would just like to find out the cutting abilities of these products.

Thanks for any help guys

SSHR on a Green FLEX pad should have no problem with say a 1500/2000 grit scratch. You may need two passes and will surely be following it up with Swirl & Haze Remover and Fine Machine Polish. It will leave a little haze behind which is normal for a polish of this abrasion.

As for another example, I use Swirl & Haze Remover with an Orange pad on a rotary after wet sanding with 2000 all the time. Hope that's the info you're looking for.

interested as well but I just dont think there will be a direct correlation cause all things are brought into effect. abrasiveness of polish, length polish worked, speed polished worked, temperature, cutting pad/microfiber difference. all that good stuff, I think dylan will be able to chime in or someone else, sorry i couldnt help.

i cant comment on SSHR but i can comment on Swirl & Haze Remover, it is awesome. Had to use it on my dads car that got trashed at the dealer a year or so ago. Fine Machine Polish, IMO is Adams greatest product next to Brilliant Glaze and Americana. What Fine Machine Polish does to paint is simply incredible, and the way it finishes down with the FLEX is also utterly incredible.

If you want you can try my Fine Machine Polish and Swirl & Haze Remover before you buy.

Darryl that's exactly the type of info I was looking for, thanks!

Josh, thanks for the input regardless, I appreciate it.

And Brendon, I really appreciate that offer, but I don't think there's a need...I'm sold. Can't wait to try out Swirl & Haze Remover, makes me doubt I'll even need SSHR

SSHR is for really trashed paint, so it is sometimes brought into play on fixing up someone's ride the first time, and (from what I hear, soon to try) the harder clear coats.

I haven't tried m105, BUT I do have a extra heavy duty cut compound in my arsenal that I've had to use one time before on a really trashed super hard clear coat. It's meant to get up to 800 grit sanding scratches out. If I use that I go straight to Swirl & Haze Remover followed by Fine Machine Polish. Like I said I've only had to use it one time, and Severe Swirl Remover just wouldn't get the damage I was facing down. It just laughed at me regardless what I did. I rarely use Severe Swirl Remover. Swirl & Haze Remover and Fine Machine Polish are quite the deadly combo. Although I will say I typically deal with foreign cars known for softer clear coats. No vettes or GM cars in my future. Sooooooo YMMV for sure.

Severe Swirl Remover (not ssHr... but I digress ) like mentioned will knock out 2000 grit sanding with a green pad on the flex... thats a good way to gauge its cutting power. Its REALLY hard to do direct comparisons between polishes b/c there are so many variables.

M105 is good stuff... and its probably a close comparison to Severe Swirl Remover, but not directly.

Thanks guys, that's exactly what I wanted to know. Sounds good. I'm rarely working with paint that would probably call for it, but I just like to know what I have at my disposal.

i've used all three a few times. I just realized i never skipped the sshr and only tried Swirl & Haze Remover and fine polish Next time i will see how they compare. I think 105 is good stuff. only used it with a pc not the flex.
