  1. It should work on plastic just fine. If you already used the leather and interior cleaner on these spots I would do as Rich suggested and move to the conditioner. However if you only used the Interior Detailer, it may be worth testing a small spot with the cleaner. Those pics look like residue to me but never hurts to be cautious.
  2. Actalky the more I look at the pics the more I think residue is still there. So if it was me, I would likely do a test spot with the leather and interior cleaner. That is assuming he used the Interior Detailer. But he hasn’t answered my question. If his answer was that he did use the leather and interior cleaner already then I would say STOP cleaning and move on to the L con. However we don’t know that. We need more info from him to really determine the correct answer here.
  3. Ah I keep forgetting the Leather Conditioner has some cleaning properties. So I guess that would be the best thing to try first! Good point Rich. Least aggressive ?
  4. Scott, sorry you are having this issue. The good news is I think you can minimize it if not reverse it altogether. When you say you used interior Detailer and leather cleaner, are you referring specifically to the Adams Interior Detailer? The reason I say that is that product only has light cleaning capabilities. The best product to deep clean the interior plastics, leather, and vinyl would be Adams Leather and Interior cleaner. And in your case, the scrubbing mitt might be a good choice or one of the Adams Deep clean eraser. Follow that up with a healthy application of the leather conditioner and you should get great results that can be maintained with the interior Detailer. Utility towels are also great for steering wheels where you really need to get a good amount of grime off them in tight spots where brushes and scrubbing media don’t reach well. Don’t use too much product or pressure though. Try to go with the least aggressive method to start out. I said all that to say there are a ton of tools and methods for tackling this job. Some are more aggressive than others.
  5. I made a post about the man a few weeks back and once again I think he needs to get credit for doing an excellent job sorting through a few issues for me. This guy is very responsive and easy to correspond with. Emery you may or may not realize it, but you make a huge impact on us customers when you resolve things the way you have for me. The whole team at Adams is great for sure, but I really have been impressed with this young fella. Keep up the great work and you are sure to impact many others and foster repeat business for your company. I believe Adams is lucky to have people like you working for them.
  6. Maybe there was another protectant or build up on the dash prior to your application of Interior Detailer. Similar to detailing an exterior surface, you want to clean the surface prior to dressing (paint, tires, trim etc) when necessary. Otherwise, the dressing may not level and apply evenly. Might be worth trying the leather and interior cleaner first on a dash or surface you are not sure about. I do that on most of the cars I detail as a standard.
  7. Man once it sets in it’s pretty difficult to get out. I have a ton of waterproof towels now?. I just pretty much try and make sure now that I wash towels in specific loads to avoid cross contamination. People say you can boil them, but I tried it and it never helped mine. So now any time I’m using H2O I prep a bucket with warm water and MFBR and throw the towels in as soon as I’m done. I wring them out several times to help get most of the H2O out and allow them to soak for a bit before washing.
  8. Yeah I’m not saying it won’t last longer but honestly for the amount of work it takes, I’d rather spend the time doing other things. I’ve never gotten it to remove without some level of high spots and that’s after applying by machine. I’m just trying to give my perspective based on the times I’ve used the three products mentioned. H2O is somewhere between BW and LPS in longevity, but destroys both in ease of application, things you can apply on, and gloss. If I’m detailing for a client I’m reaching for that 10 times out of 10.
  9. @Kyle@Adams I was also thinking about all the Mystery Boxes I bought and ended up getting duplicates of things I already had most of the time. It wasn’t too big of an issue because many times I either wouldn’t have to reorder or I could give some product to my customers. Just curious if you guys would ever do a more specific mystery box. Say for instance, an interior MB or Polishing MB. I wonder if that would get more of the old crowd involved more. Just a thought.
  10. Honestly man I would. That is way better than traditional wash and wax details we used to do results wise. Trust me, I used to put Buttery Wax on all my clients cars and I did LPS a few times too. I was never really blown away by either of those products. They were decent, but they had draw backs in time and ease to apply vs longevity. H2O strikes a perfect balance there. If I am going to offer a better service for clients now, it is Ceramic Coating. Those obviously require more time and effort.
  11. Okay thanks for the info Travis. It sounds like timing and heat played a role. As for the wipe down, that should remove all wax and sealant and get your paint to bare assuming you have no ceramic coating. I am guessing you haven’t gone that far yet. So that should tell you if you have embedded defects or if the blemishes were indeed streaking of some kind from the product etc.
  12. I would be willing to bet you have a combination of things going on. Water spots are more than likely what you are seeing now. As for the first pic of streaking, I would say it’s probably over application or technique related. How many applications of H2O had you done on the vehicle when you first saw the streaking? Were you applying it at every wash and if so what was the wash interval? I have been using H2O for several years and the only time I ever got streaking was from excessive use. I think the magic number was 4 washes in 4 weeks time applying H2O each time. As for the water spots, I would probably look into some paint correction using at the very least Revive by hand after claying the offending areas where the spotting is. But machine polishing might be the best option. One easy way to figure out if you got water spots or embedded defects would be do do a normal wash and then do an IPA alcohol wipe down in the spots you are seeing the defects in. All you need is a spray bottle and 1:1 ratio of Isopropyl Alchol to water and a very soft microfiber towel. Make sure the car is cool and dry and mist the towel and the affected area of the panel. Gently wipe in a straight back and forth motion applying very light pressure until the solution has flashed and removed. It shouldn’t take too many wipes to do this and there is no elbow grease involved. Google IPA wipe down or search this forum for techniques and tips.
  13. Oh and the one thing to note with using HGG, I typically keep a bucket of warm water with APC or MFBR solution on standby to help remove the sealant from the towels. Otherwise, you run the risk of waterproofing them.
  14. Travis, In my experience, the HGG gives pretty decent lasting results. I know LPS claims a year, but I really don’t believe it offers much more longevity than HGG. To me, it’s really a time vs performance thing. The HGG kills the others there. Sure you could spend an extra 30-45 minutes doing LPS or whatever, but if it’s me, I’d rather add glaze as a first step or do two layers of HGG. Both of those are faster. Using the wax or LPS doesn’t net much in the way of extra benefits. And again I am looking at it with time vs benefit/performance being weighed heavily. Others might have a different opinion. I’m basing this on my personal experience.
  15. I like that list idea Jim! One other thing I was thinking about that also might foster more product reviews would be like a featured review of the month or week. Let’s say the winner of that gets a $5 or $10 gift card. And maybe even a place where we can see the most recent reviews in one spot versus at the product level. I have been lazy in submitting reviews lately. This would kick me into gear.
  16. I typically do a wash/glaze/H2O application. I like the result that gives and the ease of application. Honestly sometimes I will just do H2O and it makes the vehicle pop like crazy. Time factor plays a role there. Some cars have hidden secrets like really dirty rims and tires that I have to spend more time on. That’s when I just do the one step. I would agree though buttery is just something I rarely reach for because it lacks longevity and also because the GG is such an awesome product. You could use the Wash and Wax as your maintenance wash on the clients cars a month down the road. I really haven’t messed with wash and wax much so I don’t know how well it plays with various LSPs. IMHO the steps you are describing would be overkill though.
  17. Just thinking about how you guys could improve the site experience some, maybe an easier way to view order history. On Amazon, it shows the items individually in scroll view. Is there any way we can open our order history that way? Even if it doesn’t show the pic maybe just the description and a reorder link at the item level would be nice. I doubt I will ever reorder an order twice because I typically have multiple products on the orders, but the specific products I reorder all the time. Also the search feature is not very usable on an iPad. Would there be any way to take us to the search results vs have them show in a drop down? These are all pretty small suggestions. Another one would be seeing your YouTube videos linked in a central location on the Adams site. The videos section has all the general how tos but is missing a ton of awesome YouTube content. Maybe there is a legit reason behind that, but I find myself bouncing over to YouTube quite often to see the latest and greatest content. Lastly, and I have asked for these things a few times, but maybe it’s just too difficult to make happen- Gallon Refill kit- Car Shampoo, Detail Spray, APC, Waterless Wash Mix and match 4 or 6 bottle kits (buyer selects their kit) Odor Neutralizer in Gallon PLEASE PRETTY PLEASE WITH SUGAR... And like I said maybe do some group buys so you guys can gauge interest in things or sell slow moving products. I hope this helps foster some ideas or feedback from you guys. Like you said let’s get some discussion going
  18. Kyle, I think it’s awesome you are looking to get input from customers/forum members. Obviously, Adams cannot please everyone, but you guys definitely seem to connect with customers better than most companies I know. You guys do a lot of things right. Let’s start with that. Pros Customer focused Back product line with excellent support Quality products made in USA when possible Great team led by a real good guy in Adam Cons Forum support from actual Adams team seems to have diminished in recent years quite drastically Prices are fairly high. I get that there is support baked in and there’s always a sale and sometimes discontinued things get drastically reduced, but most of the time 15% is all we can get off. It would be awesome to see Adams look at stats and maybe heavily discount slow sellers every now and then. Or so group buys on the Forum or social media. Speaking of which, Some of the social media seems geared towards people who use terms like lit and fleek and bae. Those folks don’t know how to use proper English. I wouldn’t want them touching my car. At least based on the comments and some of the pair ups with some of the weird clothing brands (I guess that’s what they are) something called untamed I think. Those things tend to be happening a lot along with mystery boxes but some of the things folks ask for on the regular get no play. It’s like the focus is all over the place with things like that and product offerings that are really very strange honestly. I will always buy Adams as long as they continue the stellar product line and support. But the weird one off things don’t really appeal to me much. I like to detail cars. I really don’t care about having a backpack with Adams on it or a detail spray that says untamed. It seems like you guys are trying to do limited edition things like that to appeal to the cool crowd. I doubt most of those folks really know much about car detailing. I start looking at Adams sort of like how I looked at Chemical Guys. That’s not a good thing.
  19. Rich that’s a good point. I need to check into that. But it would still be so much more expensive than a gallon. I cannot believe I am so focused on this. I guess it’s the first time I’ve really felt the need to push something with Adams from a suggestion perspective and follow through with it. I am passionate about ON in gallon size. I’m also semi-passionate about them doing the gallon refill kit again:)
  20. Someone mentioned a group buy scenario or like limited run, I really think that would be awesome. Seems they could gauge interest that way and scale accordingly.
  21. Shane, I tried emailing and even calling them asking if they would hook me up with a gallon, but couldn’t make it happen. I’d be okay with a $50 gallon all day. I think I’ve bought 3 bottles already. That’s $50 plus shipping I’ve spent on ON in just about a year. That is where I am getting killed cost wise. I am left looking for another alternative. Anyone got any suggestions for a good replacement product please PM me. I love ON and it works great, but can not justify the cost.
  22. Marc, I like the username. Happy fun ball sticks to certain types of skin. Do not taunt happy fun ball. Hahaha. But to answer your q. I thought I did see a post from Dan or one of the others stating they had something in development. That was a while back so maybe they scrapped it. Adams wants to make sure they’re giving you a product that delivers results and is safe and easy to use. Maybe they couldn’t strike that balance. There are a lot of methods you can use with pretreatment and pressure washing that should get you good results. Adam had a video about it from some years back using waterless wash as a pre treat. I’ve seen where people say soak microfiber towels in waterless or Rinseless solution and place them over. Bug guts to extend dwell time. Junkman has a good video about it. Look him up on YouTube if you get the chance.
  23. I wanted to post a topic up about how awesome Emery is. I had an issue with a previous order where the wrong pad was shipped to me. It’s probably the first time I have ever had the wrong thing sent to me and I’ve made several orders. Within minutes of speaking with Emery, he resolved the problem. Super cool guy with a very helpful approach. Having support like that from this company is why I remain loyal to Adams. I have rarely had any issues, but when I have, they have always stepped up to resolve them. Thanks for your time and assistance Emery and the rest of the Adams team. -Jamey
