mc2hill reacted to dirtymarcus in What Did You Wash, Shine, and or Polish Today
Last week polished and used the graphene coating for the first time. It was super easy to apply. It rained a little today and I'll say I'm impressed. This stuff is super slick.
Wednesday I polished and coated the GF's car. The clear coat on her car is hard and doesn't scratch easy to I just did a quick over with Adams finishing polish and was good to go. Her tires are unusually easy to remove the bloom from so I decided to apply tire armor to them after I cleaned them. Not sure what it is about car being to easy to maintain but I'm glad. The tires on my truck never looked this good with the tire armor either.

mc2hill got a reaction from aurik in Strip wash in a foam cannon?
@aurik I hadn't thought about it before, but Strip Wash should work fine as a clay lube. You mainly are looking for some lubrication.
With our humidity I can't usually use the soap (it dries up to fast), so I use diluted Rinseless Wash as a clay lube.

I cleaned the interior of the SS using Griot’s Garage interior cleaner. I followed that up with a wipe down of Adam’s Interior Detailer with MicroBan, sweat pea scent. This afternoon, upon retrieving the twins from school I was met with compliments on the “ nice smell” of my SS before they returned to being preteen girls and ignoring me... 🤷🏻♂️

mc2hill reacted to RayS in Polishing Pads - SK polisher
I have found that a pair of tin snips works wonders on cutting pads. The backing on some of the pads is a lot thicker and harder that you may realize.
I have cut up several into strips that I can use by hand to get under door handles and such where a polisher just doesn't fit.

Nice work on an old sweetie Kurt!
If it is the original paint, you may want to search 'mike phillips antique single stage paint'. He uses products and techniques that add some oils back into the paint. It is labor intensive, but the results are amazing.

mc2hill reacted to RayS in Ceramic Spray on the Bike
After 18 years of ownership the bike went to a new home today. The person that bought it spent plenty of time talking about the looks and how I got it looking so good for it's age. He was also looking at my truck and the Jag, so we had a good discussions about Adam's products.
There is nothing like having multiple vehicles that use a product to advertise it.

Got the van done!
didn’t have to open the second bottle until the last panel.
each vehicle so far I’ve used 2 takeoff towels, for anyone wondering (I was curious how many it would take).
still very happy with the product!

Observed this bird with a golf ball (brightly colored pink or orange, you have to zoom in) in its beak flying around and around my cart. Why couldn't he take mine and drop it on the green??!! Now THAT would be a birdie to remember 🦅😂

Best answer: Whenever you feel like it.

Yes, the Paint Sealant will work fine on the vinyl graphics. Make sure to remove any extra product from the edge of the stripes.

Michael, you are correct. I’m immensely enjoying the role of being a father to my girls. While it’s fun to sneak off to the garage for an hour or two here and there to keep the rides shiny, I’d rather the girls remember me when I’m gone as being Papa who did things with them and not Papa hiding out in the garage.
Bragging now: They made the cover of their school student/parent manual.
I’m so proud of my twins!

@Captain Slow I would call you out on swearing off black cars, but knowing you have 3 lovelies at home to spend time with I understand!

The SS got a bath last night. Adam’s Wash and Wax plus many MF wash pads in the bucket. CS3 was used as a drying aid. 😍❤️😘
Let me announce it here for the world: I will never ever have a black vehicle again...NEVER!
Also discovered my cheap electric power washer is a complete POS. 1 year of use and it’s dying. TIme to do a few side details to get some $$ for a legitimate power washer, foam cannon, etc.

LOVE BUGS are out in Florida. Thank God for Adam's Bug Remover.
No pictures!!!
Wet the Dodge Dakota truck and sprayed the grille, windshield and side mirrors with Bug Remover. Let it soak and soften the bug guts for a minute and started the removal process. Rinsed the truck off and did a quick hand wash on the rest of the truck. Dried and applied Ceramic Boost.

Wet the Toyota Avalon (garage queen) and sprayed the grille, windshield and side mirrors with Bug Remover. Let it soak and soften the bug guts for a minute and started the removal process. Rinsed the car off and did a quick hand wash on the rest of the car. Parked the queen back in her private place and dried and applied Ceramic Boost. The Princess is happy now!!!

mc2hill got a reaction from kaj41354 in Steps to clay, use rubbing compound, polishing compound & waxing
First off, Welcome!
You don't say if you are using a machine for the polishing, so I will respond as if you are working by hand. The rubbing compound should be fairly aggressive, so using a finishing polish to refine the paint more is always a good plan. Think of it like sandpaper in woodworking - start with a low number grit to remove the 'big' stuff, then finish with a higher number grit to smooth out the surface.
If you will do more cars in the future, you should look into polishing with a machine - it is much faster and produces better results. A random orbital, dual action machine (Porter Cable, Adam's Swirl Killers, etc.) is fairly simple to learn to use, and if you are mindful with the operation of them the only way they will damage the paint is if you drop them on the car!

mc2hill reacted to RayS in Wheel & Tire Cleaner vs Tire Cleaner on Running Boards
Hi Dan,
No worries, we live and we learn. In this case, I had the bonus of teaching a lot of other people at the same time
As for the Tire and Rubber cleaner, I only used that on the rubber mat portion, not the entire running board. I love my Revive hand polish and I do have a couple of bottles on hand and will most certainly give it a try. Revive is the best thing there is for tail lights, marker lights and golf carts and I'm going to find out about running boards.
Either way, I'm pretty sure that I have an excuse to redo my truck before I redo Mary's Terrain and they'll both get Graphene.
Update: I had to go outside and give Revive a try - Thank you @Dan@Adams
It is starting to get dark, so I hit the center section and with the puddle lights on, you can easily see the difference where I went over it with Revive - I'm impressed. I did the other two flat sections and stepped back and snapped a couple more pictures. The second one is the whole board with the puddle lights on and the last picture has part of the sequential turn single on.
Based on what I can see tonight, it sure looks like Revive will be the easy cleanup to my mistake and now I have a new use for Revive since I would have never thought of using it on anything powder coated. Thanks again Dan, I appreciate the response and recommendation.

Sadly I guess it is just another piece of inventory for the dealer, but that is a very sad condition to deliver an expensive car in.
Great work on making it correct!

Worked (not so fun), then came home and polished the headlights on my son's Civic. Nice therapy! And they are nice and clear now.

Evening everyone. Been using Adams for over 10 years now and I have kinda fallen off the forum the last couple years and I felt it time to return as I once again have a vehicle that I want to keep in great shape and clean it properly. I am now the proud owner of a 2020 Charger Scatpack Widebody. Love the car but the brake dust is insane on these things.
