  1. Had an amazing day. After my Grandparents passed away last year there was some concern that the family might drift apart so we've been trying to think of things to get us all together. Well last month the whole family went in and bought a cabin on the river and after some renovations it was finally time for a first Sunday cook out. It was great, we all got together and just had a good time. I know Grandma and Grandpa were smiling down on us today.
  2. Hey guys and gals. We have this great car club near by that is near and dear to my heart because when I was just starting out with Infinite-Garage.com they let me come around and bug them by doing a bunch of features on their cars. They are a great group of guys and every September they have their Reunion which is one of the best small town car shows I've ever been too. It's got a great variety and the people are always nice and friendly. So with their show coming up here in just a little over a month I want to give them something for their auction. They are not for profit and every dime they raise goes into some local causes in their small town. They do not really advertise their good deeds but I know last year they donated $25,000 to various causes. That's hugely impressive for a group based in a town of less than $500. So I'm looking for some suggestions. Now I can't break the bank here, but I want to give back to this group that has been so great to me.
  3. You know what the difference between a $300 push mower and a $100 push mower is? $200 bucks. Seriously you do not need a whole host of features. Just buy something that works. I get a kick out of all the people spending big money on lawn mowers. I know it's a suburb keep up with the Jones thing but it's funny. My neighbor just bought a $10,000 zero turn to mow his quarter acre lot. What a joke. Meanwhile my 1963 John Deere 110 is going strong fifty years later, which cost me exactly zero because my Grandfather said "if you can fix it up you can have it." I gaurantee that you can not tell the difference between the grass cut with his $10,000 mower and my free one. My mower also mows an acre and a half vs his quarter acre.
  4. Hi guys it's been a while. Still an Adam's junkie and all but I just don't have time to post over here these days. I kind of let things go after losing three very close loved ones last year, but spring has finally sprung here in the Midwest, sorta.... and I'm whipping my cars back into shape. Tonight while going over the interior of my Cobalt SS I noticed the "SS" stitching on the passenger seat was very blah looking. It could just be dirty. I took a pic to help you guys out. It actually looks whiter in the picture then it is. What is weird the driver's side is fine, still very white and new looking. Any tips on how to bring the passenger side back to life?
  5. I had a funny text message exchange with my buddy about Rick Hendrick buying Corvettes. Me: How many Corvettes does Rick Hendrick need? him: All the Corvettes Me: I wonder how many he's bought over the years? him: I'm telling you it's his goal to own them all. The next day: Me: Did Hendricks really just buy the C7 #0001 for a million bucks? Him: ALL THE CORVETTES!
  6. My favorite is when the guys in the white gloves push a rat rod off the block. That always makes me chuckle.
  7. Well I only have the budget for one big trip a year. This year I chose Bonneville because for me the pursuit of speed is more important then watching a bunch of old farts spend their money trying to relive their youth. I'd do B-J someday, but I've got some other car trips to check off my list first. I may need to stop by Adam's HQ on the way home from Bonneville to get the salt cleaned off. You guys would would fix me up wouldn't you? lol I think I'll be going right through that neck of the woods.
  8. I've been sitting here trying to watch Barrett Jackson and it's nearly unwatchable. They almost don't even show cars crossing the block any more. It's all about social media and stupid side stories. Typical big corporation, make it big, abandon what made you big to try and appeal to more people. I had to turn it off. They've had these "battles" where they will ask a question and then two announcers will pretend to give a crap and argue for one side or the other all while people are supposed to vote. IT'S AWFUL. Then they have April Rose, whose attractive and I get that's the point, but she can barely speak in complete sentences. She pronounced three names of cars wrong just tonight! OH MY LORD GET HER OFF THE TV. You know there are hot girls that actually know cars out there so if you have to have eye candy get one of them. BJ used to be about the cars. You would see a solid stream of cars roll across the block all night long. Now it seems like it's about every but the cars. I hate it. They ruined a good thing.
  9. This thing is just amazing. I gotta have one. Of course I gotta wait ten years for them to get cheap on the used market. Damn.
  10. Talk about a turn around. Nice job.
  11. It was odd to not elect anyone. I think the whole election process is a bit of a joke. I get not putting in the cheaters but come on Biggio? Raines? Not to mention the half dozen or so others who have been on ballot after ballot and not gotten in just because of the stupid system.
