Convertible top conundrum
chevy_cowboy replied to chops1sc's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
I use 303 cleaner and fabric guard made by sunbrella on my convertible, it's great for UV protection and makes water bead instead of soaking in, not sure if it would actually stop a leak though. -
I do have a couple Adam's bags that I use, but it'd still be nice to have everything over there, I always seem to forget something and have to come back home. I also just got a few of the new 32oz bottles, and I don't think they'll fit in the bags without taking the sprayer off. I took apart the thermostat on our old shop fridge tonight, it seemed like the only thing keeping me from turning it higher was a little plastic nub, I ground that off with a dremel and turned the knob another 1/4 turn or so and left a thermometer in it. I hope that does the trick but I'll give it a day or so to see what the temp ends up being.

That's genius! Much better than spending 90 seconds carefully balancing them on top of one another, only to bump the table a couple minutes later -
Hey all, My preferred spot for washing and detailing is at my trucking company's shop, Its a steel building with a nice wash bay in one corner. Works great, but the issue is the building is not cooled at all, and only heated when we're there, so temperature in the building swings basically the same as outdoor in southern Illinois, as cold as zero on extreme days and highs of 100+. Obviously that's not good for detailing chemicals, so currently I keep them at home and haul them back and forth constantly, which is a pain. I've been trying to come up with a better solution, my first thought was an old refrigerator set on a higher than normal temp, but the 2 I've tested are only about 45-50 degrees on the warmest setting. Is that too cold? I also wondered about modifying the thermostat on a fridge to get 65-70 degree range, not sure if that's possible or not. What temperature range is safe for most Adams products? Does it really need to be room temp or are we just trying to avoid the extremes? Anyone have any suggestions or better ideas than these? I'm more concerned with finding a solution for summer, winter isn't as big of a deal since the nice cars are in storage and the daily drivers don't have to be washed that often. Thanks Paul

Fire Hose Car Washing Nozzle
chevy_cowboy replied to CMDChase's question in Washing, Drying, and Decontamination
Yeah I'm pondering ordering the new one also. I have 2 of the previous firehose nozzles and they look almost identical to the new one except color. Does anyone know if there's anything improved about the new one or is it the same just reintroduced for new customers? -

Detailing Cart

Hmm must be an optical illusion that makes them look smaller, thats the same as the bottle holder I have. It works ok, but it just seems like a 3" hole would be better for the 16oz bottles. The 32's fit great, hoping the Kwazar bottles will fit too. I did order some brushes and foaming sprayers from you, glad to see those still available! Thanks -

yeah same here, the Z28 definitely isn't for everyone. I'd feel bad just driving it on the street, that car needs to be carving up a track every weekend or its going to waste. I heard an interview with Al Oppenheiser a couple weeks ago where he said if you're looking at the specs of the new Z28 and find yourself wondering why the car doesn't have air conditioning or insulation in the floor, then this is not the car for you.. I hope they really pound that message and make sure people understand that this is a track car with a license plate bracket, otherwise I think they'll have a lot of disappointed customers.

Could you measure the diameter of the holes on the bottle rack you're selling? They look smaller than the one I bought elsewhere... that could be why mine doesn't work so well for 16oz bottles. I'd gladly buy one if they're more suited to smaller bottles. The one I have will probably work well with the new Kwazars. Thanks! -

such an amazing car, when I first heard the price I thought it was overpriced too but considering the supercars it will blow away, I think its a bargain to the right customer.

I'm curious to see what the new adam's cart will be like, but for now I bought a grey luxor on amazon, as others have pointed out It looks identical to the old Adams cart. I Also found the bottle racks for it available online, but turns out they don't work so well for a the 16oz bottles. -

Spray shampoo dilution for convertible top
chevy_cowboy posted a question in Washing, Drying, and Decontamination
In one of the youtube videos, Ashley was using a spray bottle of car shampoo and water to foam the convertible top before brushing, but she didn't mention what dilution ratio that mix was. Anyone know? Thanks -
