BrianT got a reaction from Marshall in Deionized Water Benefits lost with metal contact?
Since the water reads 0.0 ppm, the water will pull minerals out of any metal it touches!  Having said that, you’d have to run A LOT of water through a brass fitting before it disappeared.

Kind of explains why you would polish after claying.  I still prefer clay over chemicals.

You can use any pressure you want, just adjust the distance you are from the paint!  You should be fine with that setup, just don’t get too close!!

Never seen a dealer detail a car properly. All they do is add swirls. Don’t blame the product for operator error. Remove the coating and start again. And ask for help when you need it. Lots of folks in here willing to help.

    Hello everyone,
I decided on a Swiss Trax floor for my garage. Check it out. I think the Pressure washer looks awesome sitting on it. The Splash of Red really matches well. I also have a Adam's Sign that looks really cool with the flooring.

Adams- We need more Garage accessory's! I have the cool Wall shelf that holds the Wheel woolies and some bottles on top and I plan on some of the bottle holders but how about some more cool stuff? I need to continue adding cool stuff to the garage.

For me I do exactly as you for my ‘68 Firebird.  All my other vehicles are coated, but the ‘68 is the one I like to be mor3 personal with.  I like polishing with Americana, gives me time relax and enjoy the polishing!!  Can’t beat the results of BG and Americana!!

I'm telling you from experience as a side gig, stick to family and close friends. Once you break out of the zone you need to be insured. Anything can go wrong, and if it does your the one who will pay.

As far as pricing, you need to research local detailers and their cost vs service menus. That should give you a good starting point. Hope that helps

BrianT reacted to BRZN in Wheel Cleaner Stained wheels? Any Fixes?
First try washing them again with a milder Wheel Cleaner, heck even just Car Shampoo may improve them. Dry them completely then use either Hand Polish if Clear Coated, or Metal Polish #2 if raw metal.

When using the Wheel Cleaner do only one wheel at a time, in the shade, when the wheel is cool, and do not let the product dry on the wheel. Rinse thoroughly after agitation.

The tire should clean up by scrubbing with Tire & Rubber Cleaner or TAR.

BrianT got a reaction from DanITD in Help. What did I do wrong?
Take this with a gram of salt.  My 07 Jeep GC has a plastic bumper topper that is pretty grey.  I wanted to coat it, but not until I used trim restore on it.  I put multiple thin coats on and it turned out great.  To me coating it after the restore dried for a day or two seemed too soon.  The restore looked too wet, so two weeks and two car washes later I coated the plastic.
My point is, this may take multiple visits to get it back.  I would let the customer know you will make it right, but it will take multiple visits.

BrianT reacted to Chris@Adams in Trim is grey and ashy after Graphene ceramic coating
Yes that's exactly what happened, on trim you must wipe and level just like on paint.
I did a little test on my truck bumper to see what would happen if I didn't wipe off the Graphene, and yes it turned white-grey too.
I plan on working on it this weekend and will let you know what happens.

Here's the instructions from the site.

Instructions for Plastic Trim & Headlights:
Prepare your plastic trim or headlights by using the supplied 4oz bottle of Adam’s Surface Prep and edgeless utility towel to clean and degrease the surface of any existing protection or residual films. For heavily contaminated plastic trim or headlights, we recommend a deep cleanse with Tire & Rubber Cleaner and an edgeless utility towel. Open the coating bottle and begin by dispensing numerous drops of the liquid onto the supplied Micro Silk applicator to sufficiently wet it. Work the product into the surface, ensuring full coverage over the desired area, using cross hatching motions and overlapping your previous pass by 25-50%. Since the product is being applied to a porous surface, you will not see a rainbow/ flashing effect - the immediate color change of the plastic or trim will reveal where the product has been applied. However, you are also able to utilize the Adam’s UV Flashlight for inspections where desired. Once the recently applied product has penetrated, begin leveling the coating, applying minimal pressure to the towel in the process. Wipe down in a similar cross hatch pattern as applied, switching/flipping the towel periodically to use a new face to fully level the coating. Once fully leveled, allow the coating to fully cure for 24 hours, free from water, elements, or weathering.

We’ve had dry weather this past week so the recently coated SS is still clean. The wife’s Beast was a different story though. I washed it using several MF wash mitts in a bucket with Adam’s Wash & Wax. Pretreated the bug guts with a competitor’s bug spray and foamed the Beast with the same wash product I used to clean it with. The two part glass coated windshield resisted soap. I’d spray it on then watch it immediately start sheeting off. Needless to say the bugs came off the glass with a blast from the hose. Great stuff!  Beast was dried using Detail Spray as a drying aid. Wheels got cleaned with soap and water, tires with Adam’s tire & rubber cleaner. They got a shpritz of Ceramic Boost as a drying aid. I noticed a few spots of rail dust so next wash will feature a chemical decontamination and perhaps a clay mitt wipe down.  Of course no sooner than I get done when the Beast had to go out and be shown off to the world.

BrianT got a reaction from Captain Slow in What Did You Wash, Shine, and or Polish Today
Haven't washed the Jeep in 10 or so days so nothing too bad.  2 hours after I washed it, birds that apparently frequent Taco Bell let loose on the hood!  10 days nothing, 2 hours after a wash and poop everywhere!!
