Helped my nephew polish his carbon fiber trunk cover. I noticed two weeks later that doing that splattered some correcting polish on the back of my SUV. I tried just wiping off with a few Adam's cleaning products but nothing too serious because my car's paint is ceramic coated. Any idea about cleaning off the splatter without damaging the ceramic coating?

Based on the description of the new wax, I think they'll release it a more economical version after this initial release. "we've made the first run of 200 available in a special limited edition billet aluminum container." Hope so as I would love to get some for my ceramic-coated vehicle.

Hey errbody. Looking for a cleaver idea for family white elephant gift exchange. Last year I did a box-in-a-box-in-a-box gift where it could only be opened after each time it was stolen. Thus you wouldn't know what it was until the end of the game. Definitely livened things up but I don't want to do the same thing again. This year, thinking about some idea where I start with a gift card and add a gambling aspect for each time the gift is stolen. Can't really finish the idea so thought I'd check to see if my detailing brothers and sisters have any creative ideas.

I used Q-tips for tight areas and around the badges. Worked pretty well. I've seen the larger cotton swabs (similar to the Interior Detailing Swabs) in makeup aisles at Wal Mart and Target.

Wolf, please tell me you had a mullet. When I was in college, we not only had mullets but permed the back to emphasize it even more.

After applying Adam's Ceramic Paint Coating to my car, the water beads sparkle like glass beads because of all the light they absorb.

I don't think I've seen a definitive explanation of the differences between sealants and ceramics/silica. The three most important factors to me are durability, shine and ease of application but those can mean different things to different people. For example, different people prefer different kinds of shine. A lot of people like the 'wet' look which you can get from either ceramics or waxes. Others like the brilliance of the sealant; it doesn't look wet but practically glows in the dark. Then through all of that, you have to decide how much time you have/want to spend detailing cars. I think what you said is exactly right: you just need to experiment with products to see which combination of products and practices works best for you. (FWIW, I'm thinking about doing the same thing you are. My wife's car is totally ceramic and I'm thinking about doing mine with sealant and wax just to see the difference.)

I've used BG on my ceramic paint coating and it hasn't degraded it at all. If you read the ceramic FAQ (http://adamspolishes.com/paintcoating) it says that "only wear and tear over time or machine polishing with the appropriate cutting pad and polish will remove the coating." It also says that Revive is safe to use so I'd try the BG first and if that doesn't work, then try Revive.

Adam has a video where he cleans his interior windows with BG. I tried it and it's amazing.

Have you tried Brilliant Glaze to clean them off? That's probably the safest option to start with. The other option I'd consider is Revive because it polishes with the lowest amount of abrasion. I do not know if it will remove the ceramic coating so I'd see what the experts on here have to say.

I had good luck with VRT milk (50/50 distilled water/ VRT) on my tires. I liked the way the rubber absorbed the solution and how my tires looked. It was easier to apply than regular VRT and kept me from over-applying product. It was also a totally different look than Tire Shine because the tires were black without the gloss. Ultimately I go back to Tire Shine though because I think it lasts longer. For the trim, the Ceramic Trim Coating is my new favorite Adam's product. Makes all the trim (plastic, rubber, and everything in between) look black and shiny without looking 'treated'.

This seems like the best possibility so far. Especially given that the haze was not there when we bought the car. If it won't clean off with BG, will it eventually go away?

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I didn't tint the front windows myself, I was wondering if the haze might be part of some factory tint. I used BG on all the windows and didn't see any kind of adverse reaction.

Wife has noticed a haze on some of her windows over the last 2 weeks. It's a new car that she's had for a month. It seems to be only on the front driver and passenger windows. I've cleaned both interior and exterior windows with Brilliant Glaze twice but it hasn't helped it at all. At this point, I wonder if it has something to do with the tinting but I'm not sure.

There's an app called Nextdoor which is becoming very popular. It's a social media app that groups people by neighborhood or subdivision where they can post items that are relevant to their neighbors. Lots of items about lost dogs, found dogs, zoning, and items for sale. One of the best features is that there are always a lot of posts about people seeking people to provide services. I don't know if you can post an ad directly but you might keep an eye on the neighborhoods you're interested in to see if anybody is seeking car detailing. I've seen a few on ours. Once your name gets mentioned a few times (for positive reasons) then your reputation will spread. Good thing is it allows you to target areas near you or desirable to you.

I hesitated a while before buying the ceramic coatings because of price and intimidation. For some reason I was nervous about applying the coating, especially to the paint. Turns out I had nothing to be worried about. Just applied all three coatings and the process was very easy and straightforward. Like Tim, I really liked the trim coating but all three are good.

Was thinking about buying some of the new Interior Detailer even though I still have some of the old formula. Thought I'd see if the new formula streaks on clear plastics and nav screens like the old formula sometimes did. (I watched the new video and Adam does use the new formula on every surface, including the nav screen but I wanted to check with forum users.) Thanks!

Good idea, Nick, to trade away the things you don't want to get the few items the kit doesn't include. And I agree with you, it is a sweet deal.

That is an awesome way to jump in with both feet. And, at 17% off, it's a slightly better deal than the best deal--15%-- Adam's usually offers (I can think of only 2 times that I've seen a 20% discount on something that wasn't being discontinued). Quick thoughts about the kit: You could save a little $$$ by eliminating the Detail Spray and Waterless Wash because the kit comes with Rinseless Wash. Just need to add a sprayer. No way is that enough towels, unless you plan on washing them as you go. (Kit doesn't include MR&B.) I find it odd that the kit gives you Buttery Wax and H20 G&G but not Liquid Paint Sealant. If you're going to all the trouble to correct and polish your vehicle, you're going to want to apply the longest protection possible. Didn't realize it but BW and LPS are now the same price so it wouldn't affect the overall cost of the kit.

Thanks, Tyler, that's a good idea to try to do two one weekend and do the third on the next weekend. She got a Lexus GX 460; her last GX was exactly 10 years old so it was time to trade in. Thanks, Robert. Lots of good stuff in there. I especially like the idea to do the trim first to make cleanup easier. I also like the idea of doing the wheel wells. I would have never thought about doing that. Thanks again for taking the time to write all of that out.
