  1. Holee crap! Just checked your show schedule & you WILL be at the Chrysler Nationals in Carlisle, PA! Missed you guys last year GREAT to see that you'll be there so I can stock up!! Look for my '69 Charger R/T on the showfield with a fresh coat of Americana!
  2. I was up there at one time too..see sig
  3. I must have missed the memo but where are you guys? No love for the Chryslers at Carlisle this year? Now what am I gonna do for my product fix?
  4. OK a few minutes ago I took about 1/2 hour away from BBQ & beer drinking to get my nerve up to try & wet sand my scratch out (probably not the best time after having a bit of a buzz going but whatever) First pic is the offending scratch....in a PITA spot because its right next to the windshield & goes across 2 panels (cowl & top of door) My hand is in the pics to get the camera to focus on the scratch & give some perspective.... Next pic is after I used some 2000 grit wet/dry sandpaper....used plenty of water & lightly sanded the area till I couldn't see the scratch anymore but did see a lot of white/dull paint!!! Following is a close up pic of the area AFTER Swirl & Haze Remover.....I hit it about 3 times.... Last pic is after 2 passes with the Fine Machine Polish & a final coating of....ahem....Zaino Z5 (sorry Adam...would like to pick up some Americana or Buttery Wax at the show to try it out) While the repair isnt 100% perfect its 99.9% better than it was.....there is still 1 or 2 low spots left of the scratch...i was getting nervous with the 2000 & I didnt want to go any more. You'd be hard pressed to find it unless you really looked for it....hopefully the flouresecent lights in the Retro dealer arent as bright as in my garage!! Thanks again A.J. & Adam's for giving me the courage to try this.....oh yeah, thanks to the Corona's as well Chris
  5. Yes base/clear...the scratch was made by a plastic windshield tool into the clearcoat only....its more of a scuff but deep enough to feel with your finger nail. using the PC & SHR I was able to camouflage it a lot, but its there none the less. I did a little practicing yesterday with some sandpaper....i removed the rear bumper and had an area that had a lot of orange peel. i used a piece of wet/dry I had (not sure of the # grit though as it was a small piece left over & the # was not on there) it felt pretty fine though. Went to town, knocked out the orange peel & followed with SHR & brought the shine back up with good results. Mind you this was behind the bumper, unseen, so i wasnt too concerned with the outcome. Im fairly confident that i could get the scratch out.....now just to get the time to do it.... Am I on the right track? I'll try and get a pic of it as well.. Thanks, Chris
  6. I'd love to believe me AJ but I'll be in the Retro Dealer on Thursday AM till Sunday afternoon....
  7. Very cool A.J.! Be sure to try and check out the '69 Retro Dealer display at the main entrance to see my '69 Charger in there!
  8. Not to get off the subject but how about Carlisle, PA at the Chryslers @ Carlisle show? July 9,10,11,12 Ill be in the retro dealer this year with my '69....you can detail my car in the dealer
  9. I'd be willing to go as well (Date & time permitting). North or South is fine with me....
  10. Chryslers @ Carlisle is coming up this July 9-12. I also just got word that my car was accepted to be displayed in the Retro Dealership this year as well! I got a lot of detailing to do! 11. Ill just swap over my tinted/painted tails from the Daytona to cure that
