  1. Wow awesome turn around on that one. That looks incredible. Only thing it needs is for the headlights to be restored!
  2. well I just read every reply to this thread and realized what i said was already mentioned.....forgive me!
  3. If any of you guys are a fan of the AMMO NYC videos on youtube, Larry swears by doing this to his polishers. Kevin Brown sells a little kit so you can do it to your polisher if you wanted to. Seems like a good idea, never really gave any thought about doing it to my rupes though.
  4. So does the diluted VRT work? Because i apply straight VRT to my vinyl tonneaupro and it does run when it rains for sure. I keep a MF and detail spray in my truck so usually i just wipe it right off when i see it, but it sure does get annoying.
  5. low 60s is actually perfect, yes the sealant will take longer to cure but as for correction that will be perfect. I had some issues when i was correcting over the summer under a overhang and it was about 85 or so. The correction polish was drying up much faster. I detailed my personal truck in October in the same spot and the polish was working and lasting much longer. Plus your not sweating!
  6. Iv used Adams when I work for my father on the side detailing some of our rigs. Did full paint correction and details on all of them bringing a lot of them back to life! Heres a few that I did.
  7. Whats up guys, I have been detailing cars for awhile now and have a handle on a majority of the things, but have never dealt with ceramic coatings. Of course when Adams released them, I had to have them. So going forward, I'm going to be doing a full correction and detail on my truck and was wondering a few things. -Should I do the trim coating first, tape off after it has cured, then correct and coat the paint? -Can I used paint coating on my wheels? (painted black wheels) -Do I really need wheel coating I think thats it for now, if I have any others I will definitely post them! Thanks Guys
  8. thats what i do for a few vehicles i detailed at work on the plastic chrome trim and it comes out awesome, very shiny!
  9. perfect! I was going to say, today i tried metal polish 1 and was expecting oxidation and black residue but got nothing, so I'm assuming its coated. Ill try revive polish tomorrow and see how it goes. Thank you!
  10. Whats up guys, So Iv got a few questions about metal polishing and I was wondering if i could get some help. Now today I wanted to try and detail the outside of my new (to me) camper/ toy hauler and after washing the outside down, I wanted to attack some of the metal areas. To be honest I'm not positive on what type of metal it is and if it has a clear coat on it. I know some newer metals have a clear coat so I wanna know how I can tell. I am assuming I will be using metal polish 1 and 2 so if so should i be using a microfiber applicator or a polishing pad? keep in mind all of this will be done by hand. I snapped a pic of the door i will be starting on and if anyone has any input on methods of attack that would be really great! thank you guys for the help!
  11. looking really good. Nothing better than putting in the effort and finally pulling her out into the sun and looking at the shine!!!
  12. Thank you so much! That clarifies a lot. I never do a wipe down after applying VRT so i think that it my issue. Glad I learned something new! As for the glass, I did clay with the glass cleaner and wipe of the residue with the glass towel, I basically followed all the steps in the new glass sealant video. Im going to look into new wipers, I was in the truck with my friend the other day and without me even saying anything he picked up on how poorly my wipers are performing. A quick fix will be to wipe them off but I'm going to get some new ones soon. And as for my paint, the water was in a bead formation but usually when it rains I can watch my paint sort of fill up with water, and then all of a sudden big puddles will come sliding off the truck and it will look dry. This time it was not doing it, I think next wash I am going to just do an other guard and gloss sealant which should solve the problem. I will post some pics after the next wash! Thank you again!
  13. Ok I got ya, Yeah I'm not really sure about the glass sealant. I was driving on the highway for most of the trip so we will see. Im going to give it an other wash this week after all this rain passes in PA. As for the VRT goes i think I will start using a little less product. I use the block applicator and after doing my rear bumper plastic and lower plastic cowl on the bottom of the front bumper, the applicator already has tons of product in it. So I should probably reduce the amount i put on for smaller areas like door handles. Especially because I have been applying VRT there for at least two years now, so its not like the plastic is dried up. Thank you guys for all the tips!
