  1. ok.. and no apologies needed... just figured the misconception (if it existed) would lead to disappointment
  2. Tyler, Don't think the polisher and paint sealant will do the swirl marks.. it's not a polish.. it's a protectant like wax... (most people use the term polish a bit indiscriminately.... but properly a polish has light abrasives in it.. not that the polishes are anything cost wise when your talking about buying the machine... anyway the promised copy of my order... realize that is geared toward a truck a car and 2 motorcycles... and at the same time I plan on ordering more... (a gallon of detail spray is one thing that pops to mind.. ) do some reading and video watching and decide how you wanna do yours... but don't feel you can't make adjustments after you start... It's a learning process for all of us.. even Adam... which is why he makes great products.. he doesn't stop learning.. 3. There fixed that for ya... Black Tundra Limited Crewmax 4x4 here in Texas...know your pain Cato, Worse yet I have short T-Rex arms and have to be laying on the roof to reach halfway across and that's standing on the ladder
  4. Just did this... I post my order and what I think I'm about to order....when I get to a PC... iPads is not the best tool to copy and paste apparently
  5. Friday night... Got two boxes of Adam's Saturday... It's raining so... I set about building a detailing cart... Sunday.. Well reminded my self that the Tundra is a big truck... And that I haven't done a detail on a four wheeled vehicle in a long time... Oh and that a black truck in Texas is a water spotting @&$#%!!! Pics of Sunday's efforts will have to wait cuz it was already getting dark when I finished
  6. Adam, I actually was not going so far off into the deep end with it.. at least not initially... I think you could use the forums to get it started.. thinking a sub-forum that has a list of detailers you guys know of that use your products to be added to by the forum users and perhaps the detailers themselves.. (kinda can't stop them without administrative load on your moderators) make the forum rules to search for detailer before posting (yea that never works great but I think merging threads would be a more effective use of the moderators than playing cop) and provide a format for the post in rules sticky.. (something they can cut and paste would make that more effective).. give me a bit and I might come up with an example of what I mean, but gives you a way to test the waters and see how things go and a ideas on how you might need to tweak things to make them even more effective if you decide to make a deeper time investment into it.. a little paddling around in the shallow end to see how the water is if you will...
  7. ThNks Jim sounds like I need to look more at the waterless wash... Was planning on getting some for the Goldwing.. Bug removal duties and what not....
  8. And every time it gets damp it will get stinky again.. even if it doesn't smell when you get it all dry...
  9. Phil, I'm pretty sure they think I'm insane... but I didn't need them to tell me I'm crazy... So here is my planned procedures: Exterior 1st time and every 3-4 months. Strip Do any corrective work (hopefully only needed first time) Rinse Clay Bar Apply Liquid Paint Sealer (twice?) Glass sealant ( not on Goldwing ) H2O guard and gloss Regular wash.. Shooting for once or twice a month… hoping for every other month. Foam cannon and two bucket wash H20 guard and gloss… Maybe Buttery wax or Brilliant Glaze for some extra shine on special occasions.. For those times I run thru the car wash.. Apply some H2O guard and gloss afterwards to keep things protected… (gonna have to do some drying any way cuz, even if I go to the one that does hand dry after the blowers it still drips from the mirrors etc. so any feed back on the concept?
  10. Crazy busy in that my schedule is pretty topsy turvy and fairly full. but I can usually find time to do Saturday or Sunday project eventually I just can't say every other week I'm gonna detail the truck or even once a month... I've only actually washed the bike completely twice in 20k miles, but people usually think I spend lots of time detailing it cuz I keep a kit on it with 'spray polish' and micro fibers and do a quick clean on it while I'm waiting on other folks to show up and other stolen moments If I can create a process where every 3-4 months I can lay down a super tough base and wash it and "tune up" the base. Tough enough that an occasional trip thru the car wash won't kill my paint... That's what I'm hoping for.. Never dreaming that it's gonna be a show truck... Just looking good almost all the time. Kinda like Adam's daily driver video with a little extra love... Matter of fact lemme go watch that again.....
  11. Choice Paralysis for process(es) and products basically I can't seem to gather enough info... (or maybe it's enough filtered info) Start of with I am insanely busy most of the time... But I'm trying to figure out a process for taking care of 3 daily drivers.... Start with the newest (and the spark that lit the fire under my butt about all this again) 2016 Toyota Tundra Crewmax.. in Midnight Black Metallic came home about 3 weeks ago.. 2014 Honda Goldwing yea.. again Black.. no Metallic here though.. 2013 Mini Cooper Clubman S Iced Chocolate Metallic (this is the wife's baby) I trade off with the truck and the bike as to what I take to work depending on weather and my mood... the Clubman and the Goldwing live in the garage and the Tundra stays in the driveway. here is what I have so far... I need a Foam Cannon (and wash and General Purpose Cleaner) I need to strip and clay bar and do any paint correction needed then things get fuzzy.. a sealer and a wax and/or glaze? whats H20 Guard and Gloss count as? Can I make it tough enough to run thru the drive thru car was every so often... can I build a little carry with kit to get the water their misses and maybe restore some of the protection it takes away.. Can I make a kit to get the bug guts and crap off the bike while I'm out on a trip.. Anyway Help me out here... What's your process with your daily driver? Thanks in advance... so many choices and I only have so much time to sort it out and decide what makes sense for me...
  12. Senior Network Admin for an international non-profit.. handle the local and wide area network and the VoIP phone system for the regional division of Texas.. ( about 80 sites currently but they keep finding more for me to add)
  13. Now open some stores/shops in Texas.. you could start in or near Plano and that would be ok
  14. suggestion for a process/format for such a list... 1st collect the list of shops that use Adam's Products then create a ranking/legend that includes a number of informational tidbits 1 they are on the list so they are known to use Adam's 2nd they use exclusively Adam's (at least on product categories that Adam's has) 3rd a recommended by Adam's forums members including how many recommendations .. perhaps with even reviews from members... 4th recommended by Adam's ... and I expect that to be pretty rare, unless you guys start some sort of affiliated detailer program which will be the crazy involved planning and research... but might be worthwhile business wise.. ( I'd love to find a detailer that I could stop in and pick up a bottle of product I'm low or out of... kinda like I get my beard conditioner from my barber shop )
