  1. Same issue here in CT. You WILL get a very expensive ticket for not clearing the snow off your car. I have come across the following item that is a Foam Snow Brush - that is sturdy and won't scratch your car. It is the True Temper Scratch Free Snow Brush by the Ames Company. I think they can be found in Home Depot or ordered on-line through Amazon. I clear off the show but leave just a 1/4 to 1/2 inch of snow on the car- it will melt off after the car is heated up- and it won't cause a safety hazard as you drive down the road. Lord knows we have all been behind THAT person that does not clean their car off and we are dodging ice shards and snow chunks! L Click to play video
  2. This weekend- I washed and waxed the inside of my shower- the walls and sides of the tub! I used APC first and then used buttery wax then VRT. I was able to bring back a shine with no water marks. So far so very pretty with lots of beading. Wonder how long this will last. Has anyone else used Adams products in the bathroom? Any suggestions on what to use on the bathroom counter top to prevent hairspray from sticking- or at least make it easier to wipe off? Thanks! Sunshine
  3. Brian- you are right- eating out can be tough. Food is enticing! I try not to eat out much and leave it for that special occasion where its the experience of dining out and being taken care of more than or the convenience of getting food quick. When dining out you can try asking for half portions or share your meal with someone at the table. - Avoid the bread!, - ask for your protein to be baked or grilled versus fried, get double vegetables or a rice instead of French fries. these diet choices will have you feeling wonderful in just a week or two! Laura
  4. Those beers are not helping you!! LOL....it is more difficult as we get older to lose the weight.... try to increase the cardio and do some resistance training. It will take some work- but you can do it!!! L
  5. Good Morning!! As your resident Florence Nightingale, I would like to encourage you all to seriously consider getting a Flu Shot!! It is one of the simplest ways to stay healthier from the months of October to May. Please consult with your PCP if you have allergies to eggs and are unable to get the flu shot- there are alternatives!! I am very happy to read all the great ways the Adams Community is trying to stay healthy!! I will re-iterate a few great ways to stay fit: 1. DRINK WATER!! avoid the sodas, fruit juices.....they are filled with nothing but sugar and fructose 2. Try and eat fresh! Fresh or frozen fruits and vegetables 3. Avoid Processed Foods- "Foods in a Box" they are packed with preservatives and artificial dyes, loaded with carbs, salt, sugars. 4. Eat quality proteins- wild fish- salmon, cod, free range chicken, pork, scallops, lean beef, turkey 5. Healthy snacks in between meals to avoid the "crash"...hummus with carrots, grapes, an apple with peanut butter... 6. Follow this rule - "eat like a King for Breakfast, like a Prince for Lunch and like a Pauper for Dinner.... 7 LAY off the Bread!! 8. Get up and move!!! Walk for 30 mins each day, take the stairs when you can, park a little further from the entrance to a store 9. Everyone should see their dentist at least once a year for a cleaning and check up 10, Everyone should see their PCP once every 2 years for exam an physical- get screening tests and baselines to get ahead of disease and problems before its an emergency! I hope everyone as a great Friday and stays safe! Laura
  6. OMG!! I thought it was just me! I completely agree with you about the beading being smaller! We have been rained out quite frequently on and off all week and my car is outside while at work. Since cleaning the exterior with Wash n Wax - the rain beads like crazy!!! And it flies off the car as I drive down the highway- no spotting either!
  7. We were at Carlisle this past July for the Chrysler Nationals. First off- what a FUN experience I had! So many beautiful cars and friendly warm people. My boyfriend has been a car guy since before he obtained his licence to drive. I'm trying to open my self up to a new experience and to enjoy something he is passionate about. I am now hooked!! We paid a visit to the Adams Tent to purchase products and ask questions. What a wonderful group of people representing Adams. They were great and patient in answering questions from a novice car girl. I felt comfortable and left a bit more educated and confident! If you are Carlisle- stop by their tent- you cannot miss the HUGE giant inflatable Detail Spray Bottle!! Thank you Adams Staff! Laura
  8. interesting...is it safe to use on doors? I have stickers to remove from the back of my kids doors...
  9. WOW!! Thank you everyone for the wonderful ideas and assistance! What a helpful community that I am now part of! Thank you! Thank you! Laura
  10. This is true!! I have used peanut butter to get gum out of hair my daughters hair and to get silly putty out of the dog's hair too!!! Thank you!
  11. Dear Adam's Forum- Let me preface this question with : I am not a car girl, per-se...I do enjoy a beautiful car: the mechanics, the design... I am new to Adam's Products and I just recently began maintaining my own car (with guidance and a manual of course) for minor issues. I recently had my side view mirror smashed and cap broken off in a parking lot. While I was waiting for the new replacement mirror and cap to arrive so I can fix the mirror, my Ex thought he was helping by taping up the old mirror with duct tape to the mirror frame. Needless to say - after I removed the duct tape that baked in the sun for 2 weeks- I have old duct tape residue and glue stuck to my mirror frame. How do I remove the left over glue with remnants of the duct tape from the frame of my side view mirror? I do not want to have to purchase an entire new black frame since I was able to replace the glass and the mirror cap myself. I have tried the car shampoo and really wetting the duct tape adhesion but it is not powerful enough to lift the sticky stuff. I have not tried other products or chemicals because I am not sure what they will do to the plastic frame. I figured I would put it out there to the "experts" at Adam's and on the Adam's Forum to help assist and guide me. Thank you all!
  12. I love my car and love to take the dogs for rides as well as take the kids to the beach. The car is my daily drive. The Adams products have my car looking clean and smelling fantastic! No one would know how hard we are on it. I have one issue though- the CARPETS! I am interested to know what others use to get the dog hair out of the carpet as well as beach sand. No matter how mush or hard I vacuum- it does not seem like I get anywhere! Thank you!!
