  1. Best way to remove mirror cap covers that are held on with 3M double stick tap? Any ideas?
  2. Had to get a patch in a tire recently and there is tire mounting lubricant is around the wheel face. Would all purpose cleaner be the way to go, or just wheel cleaner. My wheels are a darker finish so the less "scrubbing" the better. Thanks
  3. I applied Adam's spray coating last spring and completely main maintenance washes over summer/fall 2020. Over the winter I basically don't touch the paint (assuming it is still protected) and still have decent water beading even with a dirty surface. My question is, can I apply another round of spray coating over and existing coating that may be on (being weak coating at this point) after a thorough wash for this spring? The car has only accumulated about 2500 miles since last spring. Should I do any additional steps to re-apply the spray coating? The results over the last 12 months have been great! Thanks for the help!
  4. UPDATE: I called a professional and he took care of it in less than 10 mins and its literally perfect. I would seek out a local profession PDR guy and just have them do it. It's well worth it.
  5. Recommendations for best PDR kit for super subtle dents? Barely noticeable and super small. Any help? Thanks
  6. How would you guys recommend cleaning some spots on a light colored cloth headline? I have a bottle of the carpet and upholstery cleaner but no brush? How should I go about that? Maybe just dab with a short nap towel? Thanks
  7. Hi guys, basically asking about how many polishing pads do you use for an entire correction for a small SUV or sedan? I don't have compressed air so I plan on buying a few orange foam and white foam pads. Also, How do you know when its time to put on a fresh pad during a correction? What should I be looking for? Generally, I hear "less is more" regarding the amount of polish applied to each pad. Thanks
  8. Glad I stumbled upon this thread. I have a series of 3 small chips in my front fender since the first month i've had my car, and its the only thing that sticks out. I am definitely going to try this out this spring. Looks like a really clean fix to those pesky chips from road rash.
  9. Im curious how they manage to reconnect and reapply things like cameras for rain sensors and registration/inspection.
  10. Exactly. I would feel like a jerk if I replaced the windshield for something like that though haha
  11. On daily drivers, it's basically inevitable to get small, rock chips (too small to really do anything about). Depending on where they are, they can be really annoying and fixate on them while driving. How do you guys deal with them? Is this just me, or do you guys view them the same way?
  12. I used a combination of the hair dryer and a razor blade. Worked Great!
  13. Razor Blade? What about any sticky adhesive that is left? How do you guys get rid of the old one?
  14. I was also wondering if the mitts are washer and dryer safe? It took mine awhile to air dry.
  15. So what pad and polish did you end up using?
  16. Guys ever use this for cosmetic repairs? I have it with a deal through where I got my car and they fix paint chips, scratches, windshields, etc.. Anyone here ever use it? just curious
  17. Thanks guys. Reassured about the whole thing, ill definitely be getting one soon
  18. Been seriously thinking about getting a SK kit lately (as soon as I can spare extra cash) my car wont need heavy correcting at all. I've never polished before and want to make sure that my paint will be perfectly safe(no burning clear coat). I know DA polishers are basically the safest to beginners but has anyone that has corrected a vehicle with the SK have any problems in this regard?
  19. Yeah, Im leaning toward something like this. Do you know the "color temperature" and lumen output?
  20. Hey guys, so I finally have a house with a garage and the car will actually fit inside! Exciting right? Anyway, I might have a go at polishing out swirls for the first time this summer with a SK. Right now the garage has an 8ft over head light fixture with 4 long bulbs. not very bright but better than some standard bulbs. I might try to by a second fixture, similar in size and type to out near the back of the garage. Do you guys like that particular style of lighting for correcting? are there better options for similar prices? Pictures of your setups would help tremendously! Thanks!
  21. Don't wash your car without checking the weather first.. Washed mine once and rained a few hours later just enough so the drops beaded up nicely and dried. ugh
  22. Hey all, figured I'd ask fellow Adams users on what they charge for washes, full blown detailing, and everything in between. Like many of you, I wash friends and family cars occasionally and the amount of product does add up.. I was wondering what you guys are charging? I would like to start detailing more regularly and be more consistent on how things should cost. Earning some profit but mainly covering the cost of the product is my main concern.
  23. How do you guys polish your wheels? I know that wheels can be polished, waxed, etc.... but would you use the same steps like you would the paint? I can't imagine trying to do smaller spoke wheels with a machine (I don't have a mini, but I do plan on get the SK this summer).
  24. Would these be the right dimensions for replacing the standard hex bolt that dealers use? I dont know what they are actually called or the dimensions for those those.
