  1. Kim's worried that if/when they see the speakers when they look at the house, they'll be worried about the patch.. I'm fine with patching it up and your suggestion is the perfect way.. From what I've read, the Kef T305 is a pretty damn good set-up.. The only negative I've seen is for music playback, some songs aren't as bassy as some desire, but for movies is perfect
  2. I'm not worried about installing them.. the Wife is worried about when we go to sell the house, the speakers would be coming with us, buyers will likely not be thrilled with a drywall patch that size nor having to get their own speakers to fill the holes..
  3. yessir, for in-wall speakers..
  4. Happy New Year!! We went to my Sister's Boyfriend's house for dinner tonight.. well she just moved in so I guess its their place? lol
  5. I'm looking at the Kef T305 speaker system as the Wife doesn't want me making big holes in the wall, lol Anyone have any experience with Kef?
  6. done.. although I was dopey and didn't read the directions completely..
  7. Sorry to hear, but glad she's back home and getting better! We spent last Christmas in the ER sick as dogs and couldn't imagine if we had kids at the time, definitely tough for a parent.. Rich is right, Teagan will never remember and Big Brother Tanner will be thrilled just having her back!
  8. I think I'm closer to a decision.. I'm looking at a Pioneer Elite and am speaking with an AV place from PA. Seems like a good deal and they've been very nice so far.. It looks like I'll be making a purchase with them soon. You might want to go through this place I'm dealing with..
  9. Kim got me (the house) the Nest Thermostat.. I need two more to cover all zones, lol.. I've been thinking of getting the Nest Protect Alarms as I need to replace all my CO alarms..
  10. Look at that, my thread helped someone, but what about me? lol I need a hook-up!!! haha lol, yeah yeah.. I bet it still sounds great too.. but..
  11. I've got a Yamaha in the basement boxed up that I bought in 05 that probably still works great, no HDMI though, lol
  12. sounds like Pioneer is the way to go!
  13. Good to know Mike! Hmm.. The Class D amps in the SC-71 sound appealing. I wonder if BB will negotiate a good amount.
  14. they're two wire speakers that came with the HTIB, lol.. Anybody work for Pioneer or a distributor that can extend me a hefty discount?
  15. Hmm.. you're right, the Elite AVRs are expensive. The VSX-70 may be do-able, but is more of their entry level base model. I wonder if I could use my existing speakers (doubt it) so that I can spread the 'upgrade' over time..
  16. what don't you like about Denon? I was actually looking at one of their new receivers. I didn't bother with components when I bought this setup when we still had an apartment, it was a small room. And I got a great deal on it when I bought it with the TV.
  17. AYE AYE AYE Last night, the Wife and I were watching a Netflix movie we borrowed from my Dad. In the last 40 minutes, the receiver was producing sound intermittently. Then it just stopped completely (well some light sound on the rear speakers). It's a Samsung BluRay Home Theater in a Box HT-BD3252. Not sure I want to go with another HTIB. If we had a different house, I definitely wouldn't be going with another HTIB. Not sure what we're going to do, but surround sound is a must, lol.. Of course when we purchased this one we bought the extended warranty from Best Buy, which ended this past September..
  18. One of these days China manufacturing is going to go down..
  19. Happy Holidays MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
  20. I got my Christmas present early, November 7th to be precise.. I'm not sure what Alexa wants from Santa this year.. I asked, but she just smiled at me..
  21. So it was you my Wife gave our address too..
