LOL - couldn't wait to get out. Tennessee is a great place to live! I was hoping that some of the previous responders to this thread would chime in, but I'm guessing that a lot of them no longer use this forum.

OK - moved out of Illinois and down to Tennessee into a new home. Our bathroom has a glass wall partition that doesn't get direct water, but does fog up a lot, especially in the winter. Now that this thread is 3 years old, I was wondering if anyone had any updates on uses with newer products that give the best results. My primary area of interest is: - initial cleaning - coating for water repelling - reduce fogging Thanks for any help!

OK, thanks for your responses. I've looked at some YouTube videos and the ones that use cerium oxide seem to be the way to go, albeit usually combined with some polishing compound. My questions is would you recommend any specific combo of products? And what are glass pads? Curious mind....

My wife tried cleaning bugs off her windshield with a soft bright sponge, using the green "soft" side, thinking it wouldn't scratch anything. Well, you know the answer. Is getting rid of light scratching on a glass windshield similar to getting light scratches out of a paint coat? If so, what specific products would you recommend to use and how to use? I've got a pretty good collection of Adams products to choose from so fire away. Thanks for you help!!

Brewder - I was a long time user of Zaino as well. I find Adams products to be as good, if not better than Zaino. Check out the YouTube videos that Adams have for some great advice. Welcome to the world of ceramics, too!

I've been an avid Adams user for years now and I thought there used to be a lot of products to understand. It's one thing to understand what a product is good for, but another thing to find out what products are compatible with others, and are best when used together, etc. Now with all the new ceramic options, it's getting even more complicated. I think there are a lot of Adams customers that would love a guide on what products are best for various situations and what can or should be used with others. For example, I bought the Adams Ceramic UV coating kit (right before you came out with the Graphene kit ). So one option is to maintain the coating with Ceramic Boost. But now there is a Graphene Spray and Graphene Detail Spray. Can I use these with the "old" ceramic coating or not. With all the various options with all the products, I think we could benefit from a general guide that helps us with all the expert suggestions, tips, etc. Thanks for the consideration!

I have a similar question, but let me take it a step further. I ceramic coated my car last month (used the "old" ceramic coating, as a month after I bought that kit they came out with the Graphene coating ). I recently purchased both the Graphene Ceramic Spray as well as the Graphene Detail Spray. Could I put a coating of the Graphene Ceramic Spray coating on over the current application of the previous Adams ceramic product? Would it be similar to just using Ceramic Boost? Or would you suggest not? And if so, could I then just use the Graphene Ceramic Detail Spray ongoing after that for a quick spray clean up and shine? I thought there were a lot of products to consider before all these ceramics came out! But this is getting a little crazy. I hope there can be a general guide put out to help understand all the products, how they differ, what products work best with others, etc. Thanks for your replies!

Thanks, RayS! This is great information, with some new ideas I hadn't thought of before. My cars are relatively new so I don't think I'll need the more drastic approach, but good to know. I'd also like to see what everyone is doing for the inside of the windshield, if there are any unique ideas that work, as well. Thanks!

I know there are a number of detailing experts on this forum so I thought I'd ask these questions to get your best recommendations on glass! Given all the available products to do different things for glass cleaning and protection, I'm sure many of you have tried various plans of attack and have found your "go-to" method. I realize that glass cleaner and claying no doubt will be the foundation for most things, but then what? Rain-X (ha)? Ceramic coating? What type? Maintenance? Q #1 - What is your recommendation for the best way to keep glass (mainly windshield) clean and protected, as well as maintenance suggestions? Q #2 - Assuming ceramic coating may be the new popular suggestion, what about maintenance? Would you clean the glass with "regular" glass cleaner? Would that have any affect on ceramic coating performance? Could you clean with glass cleaner and then use something like Ceramic Boost? I know that Brilliant Glaze used to be the recommended product, but what's everyone's opinion today? Thanks for all your thoughts and suggestions!

OK, guys and girls. Spent all day Tuesday washing, decontaminating, polishing, prepping and then coating my car with Adams UV Ceramic coating. So far it looks great. Its been 48 hours - do most people put on a second coat? I've got 2/3 of the bottle of coating that says to use it up if opened over 30 days. Advice? Thanks in advance!

What do you guys recommend to keep the engine bay looking clean and (somewhat) shiny?

Last year I went through the process of prepping the car for an application using Adams ceramic paste on my car. The results were ok. This year I bought the new UV ceramic coating application and want to see if the results will be better. My main question is given my ceramic paste application last year, what would you recommend the prep process to be for the new coating? I'm guessing that the best would be to start all over, by stripping the old coating with dawn wash, polishing, claying, prepping the surface and then coat. But I wanted to hear from the experts on your thoughts. Fire away! Thanks in advance for your suggestions and ideas.

I just bought the Adams Leather/Interior UV coating and finished the cleaning process and am ready to apply the coating. My question is whether there is a problem with applying the coating to perforated seats that are supposed to function as heating and cooling for the butt factor. I don't want to block the holes if that is what this product may do. I know its good for most everything else, but not sure if it will block the holes. I tried the 800# but no one answered and the mailbox was full. Any help would be appreciated!

BRZN - you raise some good points, but your comment on Brilliant Glaze stripping off the ceramic has me concerned. I haven't had any rain since I've applied it so its hard to tell. I'll keep you guys posted when it does. But my next step may be the Glass Boost - any other suggestions?

DAN, thanks for the quick reply. I tried the Brilliant Glaze and it seemed to do the trick. It seems to have gotten about 95% of the residue off the windshield, though I haven't driven it yet in the sunlight to see what streaks may remain - but it certainly is an improvement. Thank You! Do you happen to be the Dan who's last name starts with a "T" and is five letters long? If so, I met you at the NCM Bash a couple of years ago and spent a ton of money with you - and you were very helpful with tips then as well. As far as the Ceramic Glass Coating Wipes - you might want to inform users to remove the product as soon as possible following application. That might have been the problem as I waited 2-3 minutes after Part A and B application. The video and instructions say to immediately apply Part B after Part A. But it doesn't say immediately regarding removing the residue. It also probably doesn't help that the video says to keep using the Part B wipe until it seems that all of the coating is gone. To do that, you're rubbing some dry area as well because part of the wipe is drying. Hope that helps.

I bought the ceramic glass coating kit for the windshield. I applied it exactly as it was explained in the video as well as the instructions. When it was time to wipe off the coating residue, it seems to be virtually impossible to get it off. I spent about 30 minutes doing a 1x1 foot section of glass with continued issues of streaking/residue. I was using the glass spray that came with the kit as they explained. Any suggestions on how to remove the residue better than what I've been able to do? I've got an orbital polisher is there is something that I can use on it to help get this off the glass. Any help would be appreciated. (btw, I tried calling the Adams hotline for tech tips and no one ever answered and twice I was told to just leave a message only to find out that their mailbox is full )

What a great idea! Q - did you prep the surface in any way? Also, I don’t have the ceramic liquid wax. But I do have the paste and spray. My assumption is I could use either as well, right?

I've seen numerous videos with the typical ceramic coating where you apply the liquid to an application pad. But they make a strong point to make sure that you put the cap on the bottle each time you use it because it can start to harden. I'm assuming that a primary factor in this happening is the infused SIO2 ingredients. IF this is the case, then how do you use ceramic spray products that also contain SIO2 and not have a problem with premature curing/hardening? Probably a silly question, but I was just wondering about the various spray bottles I now have with SIO2. Thanks for your thoughts!
