  1. Hello all, Novice detailer here. I haven't detailed cars much in recent years so I have not played around with ceramics. I just picked up a 2022 VW Tiguan SE R-Line Black that I would like to get protected for winter. Last time we opted for a "ceramic" coating from the dealer but I was less than impressed with it. So if I bought the graphene kit would this be suitable for winter protection? Do I need to do anything before applying? Can this be applied to the brake calipers to protect them as well? Thank you!
  2. The paint is not cloudy, It has these shapes I can see that are possibly water stains but its in the shape of clouds. Its hard to see in the photo but you can make out little squiggly shapes. Almost like they are eaten into the finish.
  3. No need to apologise. I have had 3 yellow VW GTI's, I have a 1974 Super Beetle that is yellow, I had a yellow VW Corrado, I have had cars in other colors and do own other colored cars but yellow is just the bees knees to me. I get a lot of compliments on the truck. Not too many like it around.
  4. Thanks, I love this truck. Yellow is my favorite color and I searched and searched for a yellow Ram outfitted the way I wanted and with a proper box on it not the super short junk
  5. Hello everyone, I decided to try out my adams heavy correcting polish last night on an old Mercedes I have. I was thrilled to see the brilliance come back but as I stood back and let the light shine across the panel I noticed some cloud shaped stains all over it. Is this just because its a 1982 and was neglected for so long? Or is there a way to really restore the beauty of this paint? Wet sanding? Also it has polished anodized aluminum trim and it is very ugly.... White milky haze all over. Here's an overall shot of it in its faded glory This is what the whole roof, hood, trunk looked like before polish Here I tried my best to capture the staining I mentioned. Here is the faded trim
  6. I saw your post when searching, Beautiful setup! I have moved all of my Adam's products inside and am working on a solution similar to this.
  7. Quick question, How should I store my Adam's products? In the past I have always kept all soaps, waxes, etc in the garage but it is not climate controlled and gets very hot in the mid day and very cold in the winter. Should they be kept indoors? Thanks!
  8. Hello everyone, I'm very new to the foam gun/cannon approach to washing. How do I know what foam to use? Guessing a lot of it has to do with how dirty the vehicle is and what the plan after washing is? I'll use my wife's car as an example. She has a Salsa Red 2009 Beetle that we take really good care of but she is bad about washing it and I have been as well since we have had incredibly busy schedules. Now that things are slowing down I want to take pride in the cleanliness of our vehicles again like I used to. So this car was professionally detailed about a year ago. Since then it has only been hand washed a small number of times and driven through the dreaded auto washes once every week or so. What should I use on this? The strip foam? Or since its been quite a while just a standard foam. It does not have any fading and I do not think it really needs much for correction. It looks fantastic when clean still. Maybe use my finishing polish then buttery wax? Or just foam it then wax? Something different all together? Thank you!
  9. I ended up purchasing one last night. Hope it works out.
  10. Sadly I do not own lake access... So it stays on the trailer in my garage 99.9% of the time haha
  11. Hello, Does anyone know of a way to adapt a DeWalt rotary polisher to accept smaller Adam's pads? I already have the DeWalt and would like to use it vs going out and buying another polisher right away. Thanks!
  12. Hello everyone, I asked this question via email and had a reply but I had some further questions. I have a boat that has not been polished in a while if ever... I did use some old 1 step 3M and by hand was able to get it to shine pretty well. I was told to use Adam's Heavy Correcting Polish with a foam pad then to ceramic coat it. What type of ceramic coating would I be using? And this is just applied on top of the correcting compound? No wax? The amount of automotive detailing products out there now blows my mind!
  13. Thanks everyone, One hopefully quick question. I have a basically brand new DeWalt rotary polisher that I want to keep using since it was almost $200 and is new. Does anyone know of a place to get a backing plate that would allow me to use Adam's pads? I love the color coordinated system.
  14. Hello everyone, I am new to Adam's Polishes and diving back into detailing cars. I used to do it on the side as a teenager and a little bit in my college years at a body shop. Having gotten busy with life for a bit(military, marriage, house renovations) I feel its time to dive back in. Get my cars cleaned up the way I used to, clean some project/flips, and explore the potential of doing this on the side again. I have lots of questions, There are so many products out there now it makes my head spin. I sent in an email through the site hoping to get some answers soon. I'll be reading and posting as well. Thank you!
