Good news on the dedicated rubber cleaner.  I sometimes am finding they don't quite come clean on one pass, and only see it when they are dry.  SVRT is good, but perhaps for sidewalls something tuned specifically for tire oils and oxidation is needed.

Liquid Paint Sealant as a stand alone is incredible.  Like you, Jason, I was addicted to Menzerna Power Lock for YEARS, but ever since using Liquid Paint Sealant I can happily say I am not looking back.  The longevity and ease of use is great.  Not only that but on paint with a bit of flake to it, Liquid Paint Sealant makes it POP like no other sealant I have used.

I think there is a place for carnauba though.  Not only for looks on certain paint colors, but also just as another sacrificial layer of protection.  Applying Americana on top should in theory ad a bit of longevity to Liquid Paint Sealant.  You also can't beat the look of a carnauba wax on a straight red or yellow car.

Dylan is a good guy. He is actually the reason I started using Adam's. He moved in around the corner from me and his Silver truck alwasy looked so clean, even when the weather was bad. I had him set me up with stuff for my raptor and haven't touched a walmart product since!

I followed him over and tried a lot of the SCG stuff he worked on, it was great product and Im definitely going to use up what I have. But after talking to him and seeing how this all went down I won't buy from them again. He is a standup guy and even though he wont get into specifics of what happend its pretty clear they didn't take care of him the way he needed.

If he comes back here that would be great for me bc then I can keep getting samples of product out of his garage. LOL Just picked up a couple of bottles of stuff from his supply that he didn't want to keep. I told him about this topic on the forums and he said to tell everyone hello. Pretty sure he won't be back here, but whereever he ends up I'm sure he'll keep doing good stuff.

When I heard that Dylan was dismissed from SCG, I called him immediately, and invited him to lunch.  We immediately offered to bring him back, as he was a pivotal part of the growth that we experienced while he was on our team.  Let's face it, Dylan rocks, and we would love to have him back!

He is looking at several options currently, and will be making a decision that is best for his family, and bank account! SEMA is next week, and he has multiple offers and meetings.

We did part ways on good terms, and would love to have Dylan on our team again.......

Go Dylan, and no matter what, we support him and his family!

You and I have been through many chapters at Adam's Polishes and I am grateful for all you have taught me.    Thank you for your dedication to the team, for always being available, and of course incredible new products.  You will be missed but I know you'll be massively successful in your next venture.

1" disposable foam paint brushes for SVRT on narrow or hard to reach areas. Like under the wipers on the cowl, or narrow rubber window moldings.

A few years ago I was in a cosmetic store with my wife, my sister and my niece (3 separate people) and there was a display of foam tip applicators (for eye makeup). I grabbed a handful to show my wife, to tell her I wanted some. I was met the saleswoman who was having a hard time keeping a straight face as I explained what I wanted them for. She let me keep the samples. Very handy though.

Dylan and Ashley were the first 2 Adam's crew I had met here in SoCal, with me a raw detailing noob (with BLACK paint).  I have learned so much technique from both of them at the clinics, how to use Adam's products to their best effect.  I still remember scrutinizing Dylan as he really pushed the SHR waay out into flash-land with a PC7424 - a slick technique that served me well.  His efforts have helped this business grow by leaps and bounds, and helped him discover life east of the Sierras (lol).

Take care Dylan, all the best in your next venture!

Reminds me of an old blues line "If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have no luck at all". Been there, but not to that extreme, so sorry it's gone this way.

HOWEVER, you do have that Gorgeous engine waiting to be used. And the 6 speed ought to be a lot of fun. Can't wait to see the results.

I live near the beach here in California, and on occasion, the wind will come from the West/NW and there will be a fine (and slightly sticky) layer of grit on the finish from the wind and the beach sand.  I feel that his stuff is dangerous on my paint, as it seems like it's more like sandpaper than ordinary dust.  Because of this kind of sticky gritty gunk, I use a foam gun to soak that stuff loose and strongly rinse it off with the hose before I actually re-foam it, and  only then put a wash pad on to the paint.  If you even suspect that it's beach sand, wash the car, skip the Waterless Wash (in my opinion).

    My process:
Hard rinse the car to knock as much loose as I can
Foam the car, and wait 2-3 minutes for it to loosen up any gunk on the paint
    Rinse the car off hard
    Foam the car again
Wash the car with 2 pads and two buckets with grit guards (one pad is for mid door height up, the other is for mid door down, and front and rear.
Rinse it of hard, mist with detail spray, and dry.

I know this works, as I felt the finish (gritty to the touch, and sticky in the beginning), during the first soak,  and through the 2nd foam, at which point it felt pretty smooth.  Since I have black paint, all I could imagine was that sticky sand being rubbed all over the paint by a wash pad (and the swirls that would be left behind).  It seems like overkill, but it keeps the polishing sessions down, and less intense when I do them.

I use Adam's BG after every wash on my glass.  I like the POP I get having tinted windows, and also the decreased ability to smudge.  I apply it before I start using SVRT on the trim...this makes getting the leftovers off the glass EASY!

I would suggest getting it cleaned up at a music store that restores brass band instruments.  They should get it back in shape and coat it with a clear sealant, as they do on brass horns.  Then you might get/make a cloth bag and put some silica gel ( or other dessicant) into the bag to help keep it dry.  I would put a dessicant bag in the case where it is stored. I am surprised to hear of this much moisture in a snare.

I would try Adam's Clay first:xfingers: however you may have to use something like Goo Gone or 3M Adhesive remover. Remember when done you will have to re-wax.
    Good luck & report back.

Definitely move the polisher slower. You nailed the part with marking the pad and watching it spin, so just take your time moving back and forth, up and down, overlap each pass by about half, and the swirls should come out with ease. Do a test area like Roshan suggested. Once you figure out how to perfect that one spot, then replicate that technique over the rest of the car. Every paint finish is different, so use that test spot to "learn" that car's paint, and you'll avoid wasted time/energy later on.

I have had the opportunity of meeting Adam, Dylan, Mook and Ashley on numerous, seperate ocassions. They are all really cool and down to earth and within minutes of talking with them it's like your chating with an old friend. They dont talk down to you and they arent quick to move you on your way. They were all willing to stand and talk for as long as I cared to. I would say this carries over to their willingness to answer the phone, answer an email or field questions daily on the forum.  I think it says alot about the Adam's culture and the types of people Adam employs in his Company as well as the kind hearted people that each one is, in general.

Doug123 got a reaction from THE Mook in Clay bar question?
When I clay, I figure that I need to get it as smooth as possible. My thinking is that I don't want any "foreign contaminants/chunks of crud" to come loose under the pad when I have the polisher on the paint, so I clay, baggie test the surface, and repeat as necessary. I often wipe the panel dry to do the test. I don't guess about the smoothness of the finish. I *gently* test the entire surface of the area being clayed with the baggie, and note where any rough spots are, then attack any remaining rough areas, and retest. When I am done, that paint is like glass everywhere, and then ready for the polisher. And I don't lean on the clay, I just wipe the surface with a clay 'cookie' (which I have flattened out on the glass ala Adam), for minimal marring. I don't drown the paint in DS, but even if I did, the baggie test tells me if there is more claying to be done.

Hey Mook - did you ever try that 3M adhesive remover?  That stuff really takes off aggressive adhesive, and still leaves the paint in good shape.  I've had some good luck with that.  Maybe for next time...

By the way, the final shots were fantastic -that things looks so wet, it shows off every line and curve on that car, and the paint has great depth and clarity.  The owner must have thought he had a new car.  I am sure he will be back.
