  1. Great suggestion Rich, one that I do every winter!
  2. Yeah, I'm fairly sure he meant Quick Sealant in the first sentence. To clarify, Detail Spray is not being discontinued any time in the forseeable future I will ask about making them into a liquid spray rather than aerosol, but for the short term future, here are a few alternatives: As you mentioned, HGG is a new option to replace Quick Sealant and protect your wheels by spraying it into a damp microfiber towel and then spreading it onto the wheels, but I've actually been using Liquid Paint Sealant on wheels of several cars for the past year or so, since it is the most durable product offered by Adam's. To make a product similar to a non-aerosol version of In & Out, take an extra 16oz spray bottle and sprayer, fill half of it with Super VRT and half with water, and then mix it up. This will give you a spray version of Super VRT that is good for things like engine bay plastics, tires if you don't want too much shine, wiper cowls, and exterior plastics like bumper inserts. Hope that helps! Let us know if you have any questions.
  3. This is so very cool and thoughtful Jeff. I find myself giving out some of my products to friends and customers when I detail a vehicle for them too. Paying it forward is a great feeling.
  4. Having streaks in glass is one of my biggest annoyances, so yep, the Glass Cleaner keeps me sane It rocks.
  5. Hi Chris, The other guys beat me to it. We apologize for the inconvenience but we require 50 posts to make any for sale threads in The Garage Sale Forum to rule out any type of spam robot accounts.
  6. Hey Chris! Thank you for signing up and welcome to the group What are your favorite products so far? Post up some pictures of your ride if you get a chance!
  7. Hey Jeff, the SideKick sure is a powerful little machine and it's great for things like body seams, headlights, tails, engine bay, and wheels. It would certainly be a good starter machine that you could keep or upgrade later on. I checked out that B3-CD and it's pretty sweet looking too!
  8. We actually strongly discourage political talk on the forum, among a few other topics outlined in the user agreement, to avoid unnecessary arguments and because the forum is intended to be for discussions about detailing and everything automotive related, so don't hate me but let's steer back towards the original topic Thanks for understanding.
  9. Ha, but you mentioned the isopropyl alcohol wipe down that I failed to mention, so we're all good
  10. No, you should be fine. Detail Spray has a small amount of wax additive as well and did not affect the Liquid Paint Sealant bonding on any of the 30+ vehicles I've used LPS on in the past 2 years. I prefer using Detail Spray for clay lube, because I don't always have distilled water readily available to mix up a Rinseless solution when I start a detail on a vehicle and I don't have to worry about mixing in too little or too much Rinseless Wash for it to be effective, but it is all personal preference.
  11. I wish I would have noticed this thread yesterday. We had $5 flat rate shipping enabled that I'm sure we could have got a new white foam pad delivered to you before the weekend. If you get the order in today, it still might get to you by Friday or Saturday depending on what part of the country you live in, but the shipping will most likely be a little more steep.
  12. I'm in a very similar situation right now, and I get tons of practice removing stickers from vehicles, due to the charity road rallies I'm involved in. I always use a hair dryer rather than a heat gun, and I've had zero issues burning paint or melting any plastic yet, but my fingers do get super hot sometimes...ouch! This very rare Envoy front bumper on my Sonoma is plastic and I had no trouble at all removing the red sponsor decal you see on it, along with some "Danger Intake" military flat black ones to fit with the military tribute theme that I went with for the truck this year - they're difficult to see but they are right below the grill. And after, hood and driver fender polished with the Flex: I still have a lot work to go with removing the stickers and doing a paint correction on the rest of the body panels
  13. Welcome to the forum Joey and thank you for your support! That is a sweet daily driver...I've always been partial to that body style and front end
  14. Hi Matt, welcome! I see that you're from my neck of the woods! The coldest I really like to apply any of our waxes or sealants would be around the 45 F range. Anything less and my fingers get too cold and the products can be more difficult to work with for application and removal. If you ever get bored and don't mind a little road trip, you're welcome to drive down to the Uniontown area and I could help you out or you could use my somewhat heated garage...it's well insulated and I run a space heater that typically keeps the garage in the 55 F range during winter. Please let me know if you have any other questions
  15. I've found that my dual 500 watt halogen spot lights work best for silver and white cars. I will put them on the lower power setting for brightness, and either put them right in front of the car or right behind the car, at the headlight or taillight, and adjust it to about that height as well. Then I will look all sorts of goofy like a baseball catcher doing all sorts of odd left-right-up-down stretches as I'm looking down the car to make sure I removed all wax or polish. I do this with the garage doors closed, since it makes things easier without any sunlight glaring in, and so my neighbor doesn't think I'm practicing some sort of detailing kung fu
  16. There you go! Can't get any more official than from the man himself! Thanks Adam
  17. The Glass Cleaner and Glass Sealant are two of my more favorite products, they work perfect for me and don't always get the credit they deserve! Hooray for clean windows!
  18. Hi Ron, I've had similar issues with the lid on the normal size Americana container as well as the mini container. To answer your first question, both the lid and container of Americana are concave just like you see, so that is normal. What I've found works best for me is that when I'm closing up the container, once it's super tight like I'm used to closing most lids and caps of everything else in my house, I will then give it a quick counter-clockwise twist to loosen it just a bit and make it easier to remove next time. If you were looking at the lid like it was a clock face, I will turn it back about 1 hour on the clock face. This still gives great seal on the container and makes it a little less frustrating on your hands. I will also sometimes wipe off the plastic threads on the container as well if I accidentally get any wax buildup on them. Like Adam mentioned, give us a call or email and we will make it right for you
  19. I can ask about that in the morning for you wrx495, thanks.
  20. Here is Adam's post that John is referring to: http://www.adamsforums.com/topic/29020-hgg-not-for-me/?p=458633 Yes, HGG will separate overnight, unlike most of our other products. You need to shake it up vigorously before application
  21. I don't like to admit it, but one time I forgot to wipe down the front bumper on my uncle's pearl white Silverado. I looked at the bumper the next morning with my head tilted sideways thinking "that looks odd...oh...oops..." so I agree that it can be difficult to see all of the LPS residue to remove. For doors especially, I will put my spotlights at the back of the car, and look down the whole side of the car at various heights to make sure I didn't miss wiping off any spots. Every so often I will have spots just like your picture where my hand failed to operate how my brain intended
  22. Excellent idea. I will talk to the team about it in the morning! You guys rock! Once I get the information, I will get some type of donation page in place. Thank you very much for your kindness!
  23. Oh no! Looks like they took a buffer to them and then said whoops! You could try some Revive Hand Polish on them to try to remove those buffer trails, but it will make the stripes more shiny, which may not be a good thing if you want them to look more of a matte or satin finish. Could you have them replace the damaged areas of the stripes since it was their mistake?
  24. Hi Jenner, thanks for signing up! Your Camaro looks great - I've always liked that heritage grill option on the 5th gens, and if I had one, it would be like that. Please feel free to post up, ask questions, and comment! We're a friendly bunch around here
  25. Welcome, and thanks for joining our online community! The depth on the side profile shot of the Elantra is killer, very nice!
