  1. It was a busy day at Adam's HQ today, but as promised, here are some stellar shots from our man Joe, our photographer and video wizard!
  2. I just made a small donation Dan, every little bit helps!
  3. Something like those wall storage organizers is a future plan of mine Jason, once I figure out where I want to mount them, but I'm also toying with the idea of getting another tall storage cabinet and mounting them to the back wall of the cabinet for a really professional look.
  4. This isn't really related at all, but 31" waist...wow, awesome. I really need to get back down to a 32 pant size instead of the 34 I'm at now. My goal is to lose a minimum of 15 pounds by Spring Carlisle Dave...keep me to it
  5. Hey, that's a great idea about keeping the A logo with different colors! I will talk to the team tomorrow about making a 3 pack or 6 pack deal, thanks for the suggestions!
  6. I might have one or two laying around that I don't need but they may not be in perfect condition...the labels might be scratched up a little from traveling around in my detail travel bags. How many are you looking for? Edit: If you want brand new empty clay bar containers, we might be able to sell you some if you give the customer service number a call this week. I can't guarantee it though since they aren't on our Empty Bottles & Sprayers section of the website.
  7. Yep, just like Dave shows above, the older labels had chrome sections to them as well has having the Adam's logo letters in chrome. The newest labels have no chrome and a red stripe where the chrome section used to be, with the Adam's logo in white lettering as well. And also like Dave stated, I don't necessarily wait the hour after buffing off liquid paint sealant to follow it up either. By the time I have gone around each panel on a car individually, an hour has usually elapsed anyway and I'm good to apply BG, Americana, or Patriot onto that first panel again. It is most likely that the product description was never updated after your quote from Dylan up above.
  8. Ok guys, let's dial it back a little on discussing and promoting competitor products. Per the User Registration Agreement: "Light discussion and comparison of outside products is perfectly acceptable so long as it remains respectful, but direct links, marketing, excessive discussion, and endorsement of any product not endorsed or sold by Adam's Premium Car Care is prohibited. There are a number of detailing discussion boards and enthusiast forums on the web where these products can be discussed at length. Here at AdamsForums.com please try to keep the discussion related to the use and support of Adam's products." While it currently is light discussion and comparison, there are direct mentions and recommendations of name brands, and the thread has veered off course of the original question. If Adam's decides to release a clay alternative in the future, then we will unlock the thread and continue this discussion. Thank you for understanding. Respectfully, Dan
  9. Hi Kyle, I'm sorry you're having this inconvenience with LPS. I've experienced this smearing with LPS on one occasion - on a dark red metallic F150, applying it outside in the shade on a very hot day. In this instance, I applied LPS by hand. I feel that I applied too much, and the Single Soft microfiber towel I used to remove the residue already had a good bit of Paint Correcting Polish and Paint Finishing Polish built up into the towel. What was the temperature outside or inside while you applied the LPS? What towel were you using for removal? For LPS specifically, I prefer Single Soft Towels over our Double Softs. I always remember to shake up the LPS more vigorously than other products before applying it (make sure that dispenser pull cap is closed first!), and then I use two sides of the towel for removal on each panel - with the towel folded into fourths, I will wipe the panel with one side of the towel, then flip it over to a fresh side and wipe that same panel again. Once that towel is saturated with product, I will switch it out for another fresh one. I usually end up using one or two Single Softs per vehicle for removal of LPS, then they go into the wash basket. If it is still smearing for you after that, you could go over it with a coat of Brilliant Glaze after an hour or so or even the next day if you don't have time, to aid in removing those smear marks. I like to use my Cyclo or Flex as much as possible for applying LPS because it applies it in a perfectly thin even layer that is easier removal for me, but it is still perfectly fine to apply it by hand like you did. For tight areas like side mirrors or intricate areas on a bumper, I will use a microfiber applicator by hand. For your last concern, the product should have still adhered to the clear coat properly, but a quick test would be to hose down the area and see if the water beads and rolls off of the curved surfaces. As always, if you aren't satisfied with the results, give our Customer Service a call on Monday and we will help take care of it for you!
  10. I finally got a chance to look at the Adam's New Detailer's Helper HD Belt yesterday at the warehouse, and I will absolutely be picking up one of these to make my details even more enjoyable and efficient! Thanks for the write-up and good pictures Dave
  11. I usually hang my Cyclo off of the short side of my detail cart by the red handle on the Cyclo, on the same side as the push handle of the upper tray on the cart. That way I can wrap the Cyclo cord around the handle on the detail cart when not in use. My Rupes Mini and the Flex usually lay in the middle tray of the cart, always with the backing plate facing up on both machines. I'm looking at solutions to hang mine up neatly as well, so when I decide on something I will be sure to let you know. This is an older picture in my garage (with poor lighting that has since been overhauled), but it gives you an idea of how I keep them in my detail cart.
  12. A new super top secret limited edition product with an accompanying microfiber towel. I'm not 100% sure if Adam and Matt want to officially unveil and launch it just yet, so I'm going to have to defer that to them Mike McGuire, a very nice gentleman that I got to speak to for a few minutes. He's in the Rocky Mountain Triumph Club. I don't believe he is a member on here, but he went home with a Rupes LHR 15ES Bigfoot Polisher Complete Correction Kit - Rupes gave away the polisher of his choice and Adam gave the rest of the Complete Correction Kit to him, all in a nice Adam's Large Travel Bag - valued at a grand total of $691.98! He chose the LHR 15ES after trying it out earlier in the day during the demonstration by Adam. He was so excited that he went over to the inventory isle with me and bought more products too - a Car Wash Trio, two Grit Guards, and a few other things. Very exceptionally cool of Dylan and Jason to giveaway the machine and for Adam to throw in the rest of the corresponding polishing kit! Adam also did a runner-up drawing prize of a Winter Prep essentials kit, and Brandi Leighman was the winner of that great prize. On a personal note, it was honor for me to meet so many wonderful new people today. It was great seeing some familiar faces and getting to meet Jason Rose. Within 1 minute of meeting him and inspecting a black hood on a VW, he taught me some new tricks and technique to maximize the use of an LED torch light at the proper angle to see scratches and swirls better, while minimizing the reflection of the metallics in the paint back into my eyes. His wealth of knowledge, combined with years of technical expertise from Adam and Dylan as well, was greatly appreciated by me and everyone else in attendance and made for the best detail clinic that I've ever attended. Lastly, I want to give a thumbs up to the rest of the Adam's Team - Ben, Kourtney, and Joe did great at answering questions and handling the rush of all of you shine fanatics wanting products, Shane and the rest of the warehouse team did an awesome job getting everything organized and set up for the clinic, Joe got some excellent photos throughout the event...me, well, I tried to run around all day helping as many customers as possible with detailed technical answers and information, looked at some problem areas on cars, corrected some scratches on a few, helped out during the outside demonstrations with Adam and Kourtney, and I enjoyed every minute of it! It was a very busy, fun-filled day - this is my passion and I wouldn't want it any other way!
  13. Here are some half decent shots I snapped with my phone. Joe got some great photos that we should be able to add to this thread on Monday The crowd starting forming even before the 10am start time! Adam took everyone on a quick tour of the facility before doing any demonstrations. Here's a photo of the front showroom, where you can see a history of Adam's Polishes products and other vintage items like the Cyclo polishers at the bottom of the display case on the right side of the picture: A gorgeous ZL1 in the photo/video area of HQ: Just a few of the sweet rides out in the parking lot throughout the day: DVK and Jason Rose of Rupes explaining their machines and the Random Orbital Polisher Revolution that has occurred over the past few years in the detailing industry: And after nearly everyone had left for the day, Adam and I were still making this beautiful C6 Z07 package have the perfect shine! Thanks for looking!
  14. The Fall Detail Clinic was a great success! We had an incredible turnout (I would estimate 150-200 people throughout the day), perfect weather, beautiful rides, and tons of awesome people learning from the pros - Adam, Dylan, and Jason Rose! A BIG thank you to everyone that stopped by today. We truly thank all of our awesome customers for their support and for making fun, informative events like this possible! I'm uploading the pictures that I took now...they will be up shortly
  15. If anyone is still looking for some Adam's Quick Sealant, give Ray at Grabiak Chevrolet a call too, he might have some in stock. Their website shows it in stock, but it does not list a quantity on hand. Grabiak Performance Center (866)-713-0162
  16. And let's see some pictures of that C7 and the Lexus if you get a chance
  17. I like to use glaze before my top coat of Americana or Patriot to help the glaze last longer and essentially seal it in with the wax, but it is personal preference. If you apply glaze on top of the Patriot, it won't last through too many rainstorms or washes, since glaze is a shine enhancer and does not offer any protective qualities.
  18. Hi Greg and welcome to our community! You have the basics of the process in the correct order. You will want to clean the wheels first while the wheels and brakes are cool to the touch, then wash the car, preferably with a 2-Bucket wash with Grit Guards for less chance of inducing swirl marks into the finish, then claying the car with DS as the lubricant is a great idea if the car has never been clayed before. Be sure to keep the surface slick and fold over the clay often to keep using a clean area of the clay. If you happen to drop the piece of clay on the ground, throw it out - you don't want any chance of dragging a rock particle onto the surface of your car! I like to split the clay bar up into several pieces so that if I drop it, I'm not throwing away the whole bar. Once the surface is smooth from claying, then you could either machine or hand polish the car with our Paint Correcting and Paint Finishing Polishes by machine, or with Revive Hand Polish, or if you don't feel it needs polishing, you could skip right to the Brilliant Glaze and Patriot Wax as your final two steps, just like you mentioned above. The video series goes over every process in an easy to understand and informative manner. If you haven't checked them out, they're on the main page at this link: http://adamspolishes.com/video Let us know if you have any other questions, we're always willing to help out!
  19. Hey thanks Jacki! I was too quick to get that post up last night that I forgot to include a description for one of my favorite towels, the Glass Cleaning Towel! I've edited the original post accordingly just now And if anyone wants to get a good sampling of our microfiber towels, the Adam's Microfiber Bundle is a great way to get 2 Edgeless Utility Towels, 2 Single Soft Towels, 2 Double Soft Towels, and one Great White Drying Towel, for a savings of $13 if they were all purchased individually: http://adamspolishes.com/shop/accessories/microfiber-towels/adam-s-microfiber-bundle.html Lastly, this write-up has tons of great information on cleaning and caring for your towels: http://adamspolishes.com/how-to-wash-microfiber-towels
  20. The other guys already kinda beat me to it, but as promised, here are some detailed descriptions and uses for each towel. Let me know if you have any other questions Adam's Single Soft Towel The Adam's Single Soft Towel is a premium 16"x16" microfiber towel that is excellent for many exterior uses on your vehicle. It works great for wiping down a vehicle with Detail Spray, you can use it to remove polish, sealant, and wax residue, and you can use them for Rinseless Washes and for applying H2O Guard & Gloss. It is half the thickness of the Double Soft Towel, which allows you to better feel the surface underneath your hand as you are buffing away wax and polish. It also has a black stitched border to help distinguish it from the Double Soft. Adam's Double Soft Towel The Double Soft Towel is the thickest and softest towel offered by Adam's. It is twice the thickness of the Single Soft Towel and also the same 16"x16" size. It can be used for all of the same applications as the Single Soft Towel, but I especially like them for a Detail Spray wipe-down at a car show or for using them with Rinseless Wash in the 5 gallon Wash Bucket - because they are twice as thick, they will hold more Rinseless solution and provide a safe and effective way to perform a rinseless wash of your vehicle. These towels are seriously soft, to truly pamper your pride and joy show cars, and every time I show one to someone new at an event, they are amazed at the quality and softness of the towel. Adam's Borderless Gray Towel The Borderless Gray Towel is a super plush microfiber towel similar to the Single Soft Towel, except that it has no satin or stitched border - just nice soft microfiber from edge to edge. It can be used for all of the same applications as the Single Soft and Double Soft Towels, but I like to use them with H2O Guard & Gloss. Since they are dyed gray, they are color-coded to HGG and help me to keep my towels organized. Plus, since H2O Guard & Gloss can cause some slight staining to the white Single Soft and Double Soft Towels, this is a way to keep those towels from staining if that bothers you (the staining does not decrease their effectiveness in any way). Adam's Edgeless Utility Towel The Edgeless Utility Towels are a great all purpose microfiber detailing towel. They're designed for the dirtier jobs that you wouldn't want to use your nice plush towels on. They're great for use with Total Interior Detailer to clean plastic and vinyl door panels, dashboards, door jambs, door sill plates, and seats, and they can be used to clean up the engine bay, polish chrome exhaust tips, and so on. They are an edgeless design similar to the Borderless Gray Towel, but rather than being a plush microfiber, they have a tight weave, short fiber design that is great for scrubbing carpets as well. Adam's Great White Drying Towel As the name implies, this towel is designed specifically for drying your vehicle in a safe and effortless manner. The waffle weave pattern is soft and absorbent and will not scratch or leave any swirl marks or streaks while you dry. I love these towels. They make drying a vehicle much more enjoyable and less of a stressful situation worrying about marking up that perfect finish. Adam's Waterless Wash Towel The Waterless Wash Towel is a waffle weave towel similar to the Great White Drying Towel, but in a smaller 16"x24" size designed specifically to be used with Adam's Waterless Wash. The waffle weave texture allows you to clean a slightly dirty vehicle without introducing new scratches or swirls, and the towels are color-coded blue to match all of our other car washing products. Some of our forum members even prefer to use them with Detail Spray as well. Adam's Glass Cleaning Towel The Glass Cleaning Towel is a tight, flat microfiber weave with a nap designed to clean and buff windows and other glass to give streak free results when used with Adam's Glass Cleaner. These towels really do work great for me and much better than other options I've used in the past. They are 16"x16" in size like many of our other towels, which allows you to fold them up into quarter sections for plenty of cleaning surfaces before they get completely soiled and need to be washed. Hope that wasn't too much to read and I hope it helps
  21. Hi Carter! I will be happy to explain them all. I had a big post typed up and then hit the backspace key one too many times and lost it! D'oh! I'll have a nice little write-up for you shortly!
  22. That's pretty wild! I like it!
  23. Thanks Robert! Participants come from all over the U.S. and Canada too! They give out a Long Distance award at each rally for the team that traveled the longest to get to the start line The big rally each July is in a different part of the country each year and they choose a different charity each year as well. The Ohio Valley 700 events are for the Epilepsy Foundation of Western Ohio each year, but the area around Ohio has been different each of the 3 years it has been running - Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky in 2013, Ohio and West Virginia in 2014, and now Ohio and Michigan for 2015. I'm hoping we end up doing Ohio and Pennsylvania next year, because I can help out a ton for finding interesting locations in PA. Since 2010, the events were: Rally 66 2010 - The Stefanie Spielman Foundation for Breast Cancer Research, Columbus Ohio Rally Appalachia 2011 - The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund Rally Dixie 2012 - Accelerated Cure Project for Multiple Sclerosis Rocky Mountain Rally 2012 - Accelerated Cure Project for Multiple Sclerosis Rally New England 2013 - Camp Sunshine (first rally event that I attended, as a navigator) Ohio Valley 700 2013 - Epilepsy Foundation of Western Ohio (first rally event that I was a driver) Route 50 Rally 2014 - Accelerated Cure Project for Multiple Sclerosis Ohio Valley 700 2014 - Epilepsy Foundation of Western Ohio Smoky Mountain Rally 2015 - Hope For The Warriors Ohio Valley 700 2015 - Epilepsy Foundation of Western Ohio To date, RNA has raised over $480,000 for these charities...simply awesome.
