  1. Nate, unfortunately i don't have any good sun shots with Americana as it was night when i finished up. The bottom 2 are with Americana but the overcast doesn't do it justice!
  2. Hey guys, you may have seen a post somewhere last week about me planning to do my spring correction at the end of the month. Well..... I just couldn't wait! We got some great weather in NEPA on sunday, so i decided why wait?! All Adams Products used: Shampoo Apc 11x11 & 9x9 washpads Great white Single softs Gen 4 orange and white pads Swirl and haze remover Fine machine polish Revive hand polish Americana Prep: Two bucket strip wash Dried off with my gw Clayed Polishing: Broke out the pc and did a test section on my trunk and hood as those were the most damaged areas. I did 2 passes of swirl and haze followed by 2 passes of fine machine. Liked what i saw and moved on. On the sides of the car i found that i only needed one pass of each and i was in excellent shape. After i finished up the panels i went around with the revive hand polish and i have to say i really like this product. If there was any residue of polish or detail spray it helped remove it with out any effort. Unfortunately i did not get to use the brilliant glaze as i had anticipated seeing what all the fuss was about.. But what i did get to experience for the first time was using Americana! I have used the buttery wax before on my motorcycle and its easy on and easy off. But let me tell you i think Americana's ease of use it 100x better than buttery it just felt so right putting it on, and then wiping off felt like you were opening a christmas gift. You use little to no effort to remove but once you fully unwrap it, you're greeted with exactly what you ask for, a beautiful even shine! This is just after polish no wax no anything just corrected paint! Alittle overcast today as we had some severe storms lastnight Look at that flake pop!!
  3. Funny you mention scranton, that's actually where I'm located!
  4. Hey guys, the weather here in nepa is pretty crappy. Still in the high 30's - low 40's while the sky looks like it would be 70+.... I'm itching to get out and spend quality time with the charger. My collection has grown from the last time i did a full detail. Just Got a big Americana, both mp's, brilliant glaze a few weeks ago and revive with ss towels a few days ago. I am just dying to get out and detail. I'm making time the weekend of my birthday at the end of the month to spend time with her. She's gotten some pretty good swirls on her from the winter spray washes. So here is my plan! Gonna two bucket wash and clay her. I'm thinking I'll probably need nothing more than swirl and haze remover, then step down to fine machine, use revive on her when I'm done polishing then seal her up with machine super sealant. Here's where ill be really excited, gonna get to play with brilliant glaze and add maybe 2 layers of Americana on top. And then just sit back and enjoy the shine! Once she's all finished I'm gonna detail the bike with the 4 inch pads i got. Does anyone know how hard or soft yamaha's clear is? more specifically the vstars? So how does all that sound?
  5. Hey guys, it's been a while since I last posted. Last year I got a pc and it was fine for the first time I was happy that I got it and was able to use it. I fully detailed my car and have used it some on my motorcycle(paint and windshield). But I'm looking to cut down on time and the amount of passes I have to do before I reach the . Now I have only used the pc a handful of times. But I'm looking into getting a flex and from what I've read on the forums the danger of the flex is really no different than the pc. Would you guys recommend me investing the extra money for the saved time? I just recently put in a new order for the 4" focus kit, some SS towels , Metal polish, brilliant Glaze, and the large Americana.
  6. Chris, it's metallic silver. one pass of each looked pretty good for me. but im thinking about doing another detail in a month or so to try and reduce somethings i still find noticeable, also to improve my technique.
  7. how many passes on average do you guys do of each polish? i did one from severe all the way to fine and it helped. i still have some swirls here and there. but i was using my neighbors garage, so i was kinda strapped for time and didn't want to be a pain. it looks great to me. it took the edges off some of my real noticeable scratches so they're less noticeable to the other people. but you know if it's yours it's like looking at i with a magnifying glass...
  8. jeff i live in nepa too, i usually clear the majority of the snow off with my arm like a brush keeping my arm off the paint and just let the rest blow off. now the ice on the other hand.... start her up let her warm up and let it melt as best you can then pull the larger pieces as gently as possible.
  9. well i went over to my neighbors house, i forgot he had told me i could use his garage to detail my car. So i went over and asked his wife if he was home, he wasn't be she asked why. next thing i know she gives me the garage door opener and says here if you want to get started tonight go ahead! so i gave the car a wash with adams shampoo and 3-4 oz of apc. then i clayed the car. i went through roughly 24 oz of detail spray claying. gave her another wash and brought her back home that was at 1:30. So now the plan is to go back over tomorrow morning and polish her up im so excited! i also couldn't beleive how smooth the paint felt after i clayed, big difference.
  10. do you guys recommend using machine super sealant or buttery wax on the glass? i was kinda of curious about this. let me know what you guys think. Edit: i had the name goofed up...
  11. just checked the weather, tomorrow still rain but the rest of the week is supposed to be 60 and clear! next week rain, that'll be the perfect test for my sms and buttery wax!!
  12. that was the planthis week, next week i start my summer semester and well time becomes limited again. so im hoping the weather breaks. luckily i got to do my interior yesterday looks spotless again. i really want to have a go with the pc and see if i can make my silver metallic shine like never before.
  13. I wish i had a garage, I just got all this adams product, and its been raining tomorrow and theres an 80% chance of rain tomorrow, I can't even use it to make my car all shiny.... :'( Im absolutely dying to have my first shot with the pc and try out adams products.
  14. i got my order this morning, felt like a kid on Christmas morning! i have a week off before i start my summer semester so i plan to accomplish the car this week. i have a small area on my trunk that im a little concerned about. it's been there since i've had the car, it was also on part of my rear window. i believe i used a little lemon juice on a rag to neutralize it and it finally disappeared from the window. i can only spot it at night under a bright light from a school nearby but when i look at it up close it appears less glossy. when i rub my hand over it, it feels rough. it looks like a water stain to me. I've tried taking pictures to post, but it just doesn't show up on camera regardless of lighting or angle.
  15. Thanks guys.i get a gallon of detailing spray in the detailing spray collection, i also get 16oz of all purpose spray in the pc pad kit. Should i get a gallon it now or wait? Also can i get away with just one of each pad? Im trying to get a good essentials kit going. I started at 6 items and have now doubled that by reading the forums... anything you guys think i should add or remove? Let me know! Thanks, scott.
