  1. I've had my ZL1 for over 4 years, and the "Alcantra" or "suede" seating surface are showing a few minor spots. Has anyone came up with a safe method to clean these surfaces?
  2. Dylan How dirty of a car will this work on? I have a Black ZL1, and live in Pittsburgh and drive it daily. Will it safely clean a car that's trashed with road salt and grime? Currently, I wash it outside wearing cold water dive gloves(scuba gear) and then dry it in my semi-heated garage. You know how easy it is to screw up black, but this would be much better if it will safely clear all the grit without scratching. And why used double soft towels rather than the wash pads? You input will be appreciated, as always. Jim
  3. I was told by PennDOT that their paint is water based and WD 40 would work, but it didn't touch it.
  4. I had the unfortunate experience of driving over white highway line paint in my Black Camaro without any warning. In fact, I didn't even realize until I was washing the car and saw the white dots behind the wheels on the fenders and quarter panels. I tried claying and polishing, but they are still there. Before I get too aggressive with the polish, has anyone run into this problem and what was your solution? Getting ready for the Camaro Nationals in two weeks and need to have this resolved before then.
  5. For those of you who, like me, live in a cold weather climate in the winter, I've just made a discovery to make washing your car more tolerable on those days when it's above freezing and you want to get the salt and crud off your ride. I bought a pair of NeoSport cold water wetsuit gloves. They are made of 5mm neoprene and are flexible enough wring out your wash pads and work the hose couplings, yet resist minor abrasions. Relatively inexpensive (about twenty bucks) they keep your hands warm and out of the harsh wind. By their nature, your hands get wet, but that thin layer of water is heated by your body temp to insulate them from the cold. After washing, I just back the car into my garage for drying. A small quartz radiant heater keeps it comfortable enough to work in a sweatshirt. I don't know why it took me 40 years to discover this, but better late than never.
  6. Josh, we'd love to have your IROC Z in our group. Vist us at http://www.facebook.com/groups/pacecamaro/
  7. That's why I but Adams! So, why don't you kick this one up to the boss...market you own. "If you sell it, they will buy."
  8. There is nothing I hate worse than doing interior windows. I'd rather have a root canal. Since getting my new Camaro, it's worse. The bottom where the windshield meets the dash is such an acute angle, it's next to impossible to reach at all, let alone have it turn out streak free. I've tried using a thin, flexible piece of metal around the microfiber towel. It's still too thick. And then, the age old question...what to clean first. Do the windshield, and when you clean the dash, there goes the window, and visa versa. And don't even get me started on the rear window. O.K guys, have at it! Give a new kid on the forum some sage wisdom. If you answered this previously, please excuse my ignorance, but I've started detailing for cash since before I could drive (yes, they had cars way back then) and I've yet to come up with an easy way that meets my high standards. HELP!!! The Novocain is wearing off!
  9. I'm from the North Hills, and I check in at the Wexford Starlite Cruise on Friday nights. You'll have to make one next season.
  10. :welcome:Welcome to a fellow Pittsburgher (even thought you're a Mustang owner). Too bad Car Cruise season is just about over, but I'm sure we'll run into each other soon. If you're into Autocross, we still have a few events left this season. Send me a message, and I'll fill you in if you're interested.
  11. :2thumbs:Thanks, Dylan! It was nice to meet you at Camaro5fest III. I took advantage of the discount you were offering and picked up some brushes and a firehose nozzle. Adam, I love my ZL1. I have 4,500 miles on him, and they are the best miles I have ever driven, I waited 40 years for this car, and I'm enjoying every minute of owning him. I can't drive him to the gas station without being stopped by someone wanting to know all about him. And at car shows, he draws quite a crowd.
  12. I placed my first order in May before I even took delivery of my new ZL1 Camaro, and it has seen nothing but Adam's products since it arrived on 23 May. I am very pleased with all the products I have used. The only trouble is, the more you have, the more you want! Thanks for helping me keep Eddie pristine and looking sharp.
