Caring for Factory Vinyl Stripes

That video of Dylan is 4 years old. Adam's now has a Matte Spray Detailer and a Matte Protectant that is designed for all vinyl stripes and vinyl wrapped vehicles. -
H2O guard on ceramic coating
Granite State replied to snapper23's question in Exterior Protection & Enhancement
H20 GG on top of Ceramic Coating not a good idea. Why? The top layer of the Ceramic Coating has a silica protectant to make the surface very slick allowing nothing to adhere to it. Thus H2O GG will not adhere very well. I had a ceramic coated vehicle before Adam came out with his product. I loved it, washed with ease and used a master blaster to get the water off and never had to touch it with a towel because of the slick surface. The manufacture of that ceramic product advised not to apply a wax over ceramic because it will not stick and could cause a cloudy look to the surface. I have seen a few people try to apply a wax over it and weeks later start to see white streaks on the finish. Those streaks was the wax lifting off. It will not hurt the ceramic surface but seems like a lot of work for nothing and maybe more work later. -

New Americana - Left in the heat
Granite State replied to PHOKUS's question in Exterior Protection & Enhancement
Yes. Fill a cooking pot with about 1" of water and float the Americana container in the water without the cover. The bottom of the Americana should just be in enough water so if is just off the bottom of the pan. Turn the heat on so the water starts to boil. Watch the wax container so water does not splash into it. You may need to adjust the temperature so that the boiling is not too aggressive. Americana Wax will liquefy, when completely liquid remove wax container from the water and let cool. Do not use a microwave or the oven to do this. By using the water it is applying indirect heat to the wax. I have done this several time with great results. -
Welcome Daniel. I am local if you need anything. Looks like good weather is finally here.

Hank, Thanks for coming today. Parking is always a problem, but a good problem. Yes there were a lot of Corvettes there as this has become a premiere spring event for the Corvette community. The first chance to get the cars on the road. But as we stated in the flyer non Corvette people are always welcome and everyone has a great time. This event works great for me demoing the Adam's products and brings in people to the dealership to see what they offer. I hope you had a good time and picked up the products you needed. If you have further questions please contact me. Thanks again. Norm Wood Norm's Detailing

pad speeds for flex
Granite State replied to moecaballero's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
Send me a PM with your email address. I have made up a chart sheet with the products and speeds for the Flex and PC polishers. I can send you the chart. -
Check the brushes. Had a similar problem with a unit and the brushes were worn down. Unit was less than 1 year old. There is a 3 year warranty on the newer units which started about a year + ago. The brushes are not an item that is normally covered under warranty. Had to argue with the Service Center and they contacted Porter Cable. Porter Cable replaced them. I think the brushes were defective to wear that quickly. My own PC is about 12 years old and never had a problem with the brushes.

Rinseless Wash
Granite State replied to Black Bowtie's question in Washing, Drying, and Decontamination
Worked with Adam at Corvettes at Carlisle show last week. Here is a new formula to try with Rinseless wash. Mix about 1/3 rinseless with 2/3 water in a spray bottle. Spray on vehicle, wipe with waterless waffle towel to pick any dust or light soil, and lightly buff with double soft towel. This will give a better shine and add smoothness to the paint surface. Just another step to add to that "Wow" factor.
