  1. Thanks, I was about to order the hand polishing kit but noticed the new metal polish towels are sold out Ill have to wait. Someone recommended using Blue Dawn soap to preclean them and it sounds like a good idea. I was thinking clean them with the soap, clay the lips using a mild clay bar and detailer spray.. any tips?
  2. Can I pre-clean aluminum with the dawn soap as well? I was thinking about cleaning the lips with the soap, claying them, and then polishing... think thats good? The micro marring is kicking my *** right now.
  3. Thanks Thanks man Nice to see another close member, your down the street for me per say. I am in Broward too. I will try this out but will buy 4 blue pads to be safe. Also thinking about the gallon of all purpose cleaner to clean them first. Is there anything else I can use? Thanks Nick!
  4. oh sorry I didnt know about that thank you for your help I am looking at making my first order from adams today !
  5. Awesome! didnt know dawn dish soap had that kind of power thanks again man Just dawn dish soap and water?
  6. hey guys, trying to put together a metal hand polish kit for my aluminum wheels. Adam's Polishes - Adam's Complete Hand Metal Polishing Kit I looked at the above, but I see most people rather the blue hex grip applicator. Would I be able to switch them out? Looks like the kit includes 2 pads but I cant be sure of it. OR.... Should I do this set up? 2 of these - Adam's Polishes - NEW! Adam's Premium Metal Polishing Towel 1 of these (to apply mp#2) - Adam's BLUE Hex-Grip Car Polish Applicator - can I simply buy one, clean it and reuse it? or should I buy one for each wheel? If reusable how should I clean it? 2 of these(same questions as above) can they be reused? and how - http://www.adamspolishes.com/p-71-adams-microfiber-applicator-pads.aspx and obviously one of these - Adam's Metal Polish 1 & 2 Combo thanks in advance guys, newbie here
  7. Oh great, looks like I can simply attach those to my drill.. Is it safe to assume that it should only take 1 pad per wheel? or can I simply use 1 pad finish and clean the pad and start on the next wheel? what can I use to clean the pad and make sure it wont scratch up my next wheel? sorry for all the questions, truth is a local shop is offering to polish all 4 lips @ $20/each, but to me it's not about the money, I rather learn.
  8. before even doing any of this, how should the car be cleaned? I am a noob too and looking to get the PC kit.
  9. I was looking at the following items Adam's Microfiber Applicator Pads Adam's Metal Polish 1 & 2 Combo However I need tips for pre-cleaning the metal. Anything you guys recommend? All I did before hand was go over them with a wet microfiber towel. I feel as if that isn't enough...
  10. Hello AF'ers! I've been lurking for a while and decide to finally join. A set of three piece wheels is how I found myself on these boards, and after what I've seen I hope to be a long time member. Like promised some pics, my current set up is a bunch of mixed microfiber towels and Mother's metal polish and cone. It's a poorman's corner but itll grow To the wheels... I think I messed up, I polished one of the lips with the cone and even though in some lighting it looks great, in reality upclose it does not. What it looks like in certain lighting What it looks like under flash lighting.. as you can see the outer most part of the lip doesn't look too bad. However the wider section looks hazy and has 342432769475647487 fine thin scratches Can anyone point me in the right direction?
  11. Thanks for the info Adam's Microfiber Applicator Pads Is that the pads your talking about? When I am polishing and the pad turns black, do I simply keep using it? sorry for all the questions, maybe someone can point me to the right sub-forum.
