Thought it'd be cool to see what everyone started off with in the auto world. So post up your first car you owned (and a pic if ya got it).

For me..my first car was a 1970 Impala V8..passed on by my parents. The first car I actually purchased was a 1989 Plymouth Horizon hatchback..ouch!

1979 Toyota Celica GT Liftback. I bought it in 1988 with about 130K on the clock. It probably had about 150K on it when this pic was taken. That was one good little car. Beyond shocks, a clutch and a water pump I barely spent a dime on it over 40K miles.

And look at those tires... freshly Armor-All'd. :willy::lol:

1973 Chevrolet Luv truck.

It was yellow, with a flying lady with green wings hood ornament! That was quickly removed and black stripe painted down the hood. I soon blacked out the trim and added an FM/Cassette player under the dash (from J.C. Penney no less!). As summer came around, I started my usual summer job - loading watermelons, along with my 'air-conditioned grocery store' job, and the money was flowing baby! Added white spoke wheels, with large tires in the back, and a 'roll' bar with KC Hi-Liters.

As a Senior in High School I was allowed to leave campus for lunch, so I would load up a few 'honeys' and head to the Tastee freeze! Yes, I thought I was a Playa! :lolsmack:

30 years later, guess what I planning to do to my truck - black out all the trim!

The first car I owned was a 1969 Chevelle SS 396. I bought it new right out of the Navy in 69. This isn't the actual car, but identical. Mine had black interior though.

I guess I should add my first car! I had an 86 Ford Mustang LX 5.0. Novi, Flow Master 2 chamber mufflers, and off road H pipe. That car flew!! Let it out in the rain and you would be soaked in a matter of 10 minutes. I hate T-Tops!:lolsmack:

When I was around 16 I took over the payments on my dads 95 Grand AM. Did some stupid stuff with it and looking back wasted money on it, but it was fun. I could only imagine what the finish looked like, I used decent bath towels and a water blade to dry it :help:

1971 Volkswagen bus. White over green, 1600cc dual-port. Learned to work on cars with it. It was originally from Virginia Beach, and I was in Quakertown, PA at the time, so there was no rust from salty roads.

After I rebuilt it from the crank out, it ran really well, passed every other bus on the road. The person who bought it got a pristine VW bus.

No photos of it anymore, but this is very close.
