After assembly I gave both a coating of Quick Sealant. We split several logs and brought in a few for the first fire in the fireplace in 10 years. Last month we had the chimney cleaned and inspected. Our ten year old twins are now enjoying their first indoor fire. Before they were born we’d have a fire nearly every night. We haven’t used our fire place in YEARS. probably due to the fact that when we remodeled our kitchen my mom lost the gas valve key and now we are out of luck ? Contact a plumber and replace the valve then youll be all set shouldnt cost much. Also you might ask if you can just buy a key for it might not be as bad as you think. Took the time with the weather above 50 today to apply some glass sealant to the chally for the winter.

8675309'SS
Winterized the husband’s Impala today. It’s getting some PPF soon, so a few areas got polished. The rest will wait till spring. I also tried to minimize some pretty bad marks and scratches from something that scraped the rear quarter panel. (Assuming another car kissed it pulling out of a parking spot.) It looks better, but I’m going to have to figure something else out. They are still pretty prevelant. This poor car has gotten its share of abuse at the hands of some crappy people. Someone rammed a shopping cart into the other side and there is a dent we have to have pulled out. mc2hill
RayS
We have 4 days of rain coming in so I hit the wife's windshield with Glass Boost. Whatever it takes to keep the wife happy.
Captain Slow
I washed the wife’s Beast as I’d neglected it for almost three weeks. Adam’s original red Car Shampoo in my IK sprayer treated the finish to shaving cream like foam. Wheels cleaned with same using old wash mitt and boars hair lug nut brush. Barrels cleaned with Turbo Stick. Rinsed the Beast then washed it. After drying the interior got a quick wipe down and a couple of sprays of Pumpkin Spice Detail Spray for seasonal ambience. Edited November 12, 2018 by Captain Slow Added pic of said Beast. ObsessedDetailer, 8675309'SS and mc2hill

mc2hill
I worked on the worst set of headlights I have done yet! These are on a fairly new Camry, and the owner mentioned some 'gypsies' had worked on her car in the past, and the work was not that great. The paint around the headlights feels rough, and I believe there some type of overspray on it, which would explain why these lights are de-laminating. After cleaning and claying the lights, I started dry sanding with 600 grit to get all the old 'clear' off. Next was wet sanding with 800 grit (this is where I start on most lights), followed by 1000 wet and 2000 wet. I completed the cleanup by polishing with a MF pad and CP on the RUPES Mini, then FP on a foam pad. I protected them with a trim coating. I have been using World Abrasive 3" hook and loop discs (purchased an assortment pack from Amazon), along with a 3" foam palm grip sanding pad. These headlights required breaking out the KXK Dynamics R.I.D STIX to work the tight areas. If you do any sanding work, I recommend checking out these small sanding blocks. They work great with the 3" sanding discs. I just reordered the sanding disc assortment, upgraded the palm grip sanding pad, and picked up a 3" interface pad too. de-laminating lights after dry sanding with 600 grit sanded and polished - the 'mold' is inside the lenses. You can see the wetsanding 'slurry' on the bumper. I use Waterless Wash in a pump up sprayer to remove this. RayS
I was able to make my 85 year old father-in-law happy by detailing the closest thing he'll ever have to a vette. It was a fun project and he enjoyed cruising the neighborhood yesterday evening showing off his polished ride. The leather conditioner did wonders for the seats. falcaineer, ObsessedDetailer and mc2hill

RayS
My first black vehicle - I cannot believe the work that so many of you do on black vehicles. This was a Body only effort on a 13 year old vehicle with 185,000 miles on it. While it was not terrible, it was not very good - I'd like to show you the before picture, but I accidentally deleted it. In case you are wondering, the 3/4 ton Suburban is a beast of a vehicle. falcaineer
Started winter prep on my car with SW, Iron Remover, clay mitt and Ceramic Paste Wax (as the LSP). More pictures to follow in the next couple days as it was dark when I finished. I'm anxious to see it in the sunlight! Here are a few pics of the Iron Remover in action. So I had a door ding and red paint transfer. Tried the clay mitt but had a little issue with that, for some reason it left some residue transfer. Never fear. I broke out the Revive for the first time and, well, the results are obvious. RHP is a really underated product. mc2hill, ObsessedDetailer, 8675309'SS and 1 other

I need to re wax mine before the weather gets really bad and I cant wash mine as much.I worked as a lot tech over the summer and for paint transfers the detailers would use lacquer thinner and it would come off with a rag. just a thought though for future reference! Captain Slow
Last Saturday while waiting for the guys from ComEd recycling come to take away my old garage refrigerator I kept busy by cleaning the fireplace ash bucket. I Rinseless Washed it first using remnants from the last wash. Dried it with old MF towel then wiped it down with Pumpkin Spice Detail Spray. Inspector Gadget
I'm a simple man, I like the old body styles of the early 2000 cars and trucks. Probably why all 4 cars I have owned are between 98-01 . These new cars have some crazy body lines/panels now.
