THE Mook
Hello There! I have had the good fortune of having more than a few vehicles into the Studio this past month or so. Here I bring you a Cadillac Escalade. Thankfully, it wasn't the mini-house version! The Caddy was dropped off on an early Saturday morning with an expected pickup of 4PM. I knew the only way to accomplish the entire list of objectives on this larger vehicle, was to enlist the help of El Guapo. He assisted with the Complete Interior Detail, while I focused on, well, everything else. The Products and Process: Wheel Wells,Tires, and Step Bars cleaned with Adam's All Purpose Cleaner and the Adam's 20" Fender Brush. Wheels cleaned with Adam's Green Wheel Cleaner, Adam's Boulder Blonde Boar's Hair Wheel Brush, and Adam's Turbostick. Engine Bay cleaned with Adam's All Purpose Cleaner, Adam's Wheel Woolies, and Adam's Boulder Blonde Boar's Hair Wheel Brush. Exhaust Tip cleaned with Adam's All Purpose Cleaner, .0000 Steel Wool (inside tip), Adam's Metal Polish Combo, Adam's Blue Hex Grip Applicator, and an old Adam's Single Soft Towel. (Done in two parts...before wash, and after wash was complete) Two Bucket Wash with Grit Guards and Two Wash Pads from the Adam's Complete Two Bucket Wash Kit. Vehicle was dried using Adam's Air Force Master Blaster and Adam's Great White Drying Towel. Engine Bay, Tires and Trim were dressed with either Adam's SVRT or Adam's In and Out Spray. Wheel Wells were dressed with Adam's Invisible Undercarriage Spray. Vehicle was masked with Adam's Professional Detailer's Masking Tape. Door Jambs were cleaned with Adam's Waterless Wash and Adam's Waterless Wash Towels. Interior was vacuumed with the Adam's Vac'N'Blo Compact Wall Mount. Interior was cleaned with Adam's Leather and Interior Cleaner and Adam's Edgeless Microfiber Utility Towels. Interior was dressed with Adam's Leather and Interior Conditioner and Adam's Premium Interior Dressing Applicators. Interior Glass cleaned with Adam's Glass Cleaner and Adam's Glass Cleaning Microfiber Towels. Decontamination of paint was done using Adam's Detailing Claybar and Adam's Detail Spray as a lubricant. Spots of paint were corrected (swirl marks and water spotting) with the Flex 3401VRG Polisher, Adam's 7" Orange Paint Correcting Pad, and Adam's Paint Correcting Polish. The entirety of the paint was polished with the same polisher, Adam's 7" White Polishing Pad, and Adam's Paint Finishing Polish. Paint, Glass, and Chrome pieces were treated to Adam's Brilliant Glaze via the Adam's 7" Red Glazing Pad or the Adam's Americana Premium Wax and Glaze Applicator. Paint was treated to Adam's Americana Premium Carnauba Paste Wax. All Polish, Glaze, and Wax residue removed with Adam's DoubleSoft Towels. Okay enough with having to read the tasks that lied ahead of me...and onto some work! Holder
THE Mook
Before Pictures: The Engine Bay looked like it was going to be fun! Wheels, Tires, and Wheel Wells weren't terrible. Neither Were the Tips. El Guapo would be pleased the Interior wasn't a wreck either. It took me a minute to calculate how to properly clean these. Then the wash happened. THE Mook
With the time crunch, so did the rest of the cleaning, dressing, polishing, glazing, and waxing. Onto some After pics for your visual enjoyment! Results: Engine Bay looked better...a LOT better. Still had the Winter Tires on, and the Invisible Undercarriage Spray needed some leveling out yet with a Block Sponge in this shot. All that Orange Peel. El Guapo does a mean Interior. That one little bit on the bottom was some foreign substance I could not pull off. It's STILL bugging me. I don't recall having detailed much White Paint in the past. Pretty fun! Thanks! Big THANKS to El Guapo! Mook PacificNWBuckeye
ArmyAcadia09
Fancy!! Did you just open the opposite side door for those steps or are they not triggered like that?
ForceofWill
Looks great as usual man. That engine bay, MAN it was dirty lol. In & Out spray is my savior for that kinda stuff. I wish there was some magic product to get rid of gouges and scratches in plastic like in the back cargo area. My Explorer has some too from the wife putting in and taking out the stroller. Holder
You've definitely been busy. Awesome turn around. I'm in the middle of doing an escalade, those auto steps are always nasty. I was trying to figure out If there's a way to keep them down while the doors are closed Edited June 4, 2013 by A_HoderSS
07RS4
Awesome job Mook, great turn-around on that thing. You've mastered something that I haven't yet (1 of the many), doing an entire vehicle in a day! You even two stepped the entire thing + the interior....amazing. For the interior plastics....try some 0000 steel wool soaked with L&IC or even the Condtioner....it will level any black scuffs with some light pressure, and it will even level some scrapes a bit. Just don't use el cheapo steel wool I used that past vehicle, it left little pieces of steel wool floating around. I make sure I don't rip the steel wool in half, as it frays the ends of it, and starts to shed. Again, awesome job man!! At first, I though you put a link to the new correcting compound in there and I was getting excited, haha. Oh, one question: What did you use to polish the lettering and the chrome door molding? What pads? Focus or large? GaryW
Mark L
Nice job Mook. Did you try rubbing a little gasoline on that tailpipe? Gas is great for removing tar like substances. Worth a shot.

Still kills me trying to do that and get the paint that good. Once I get the Flex down really good should pick up time. 07RS4
