When to re-seal glass?

rimz808

Question

Just wondering when to reapply the glass sealant? I've applied mine towards the end of April, and since then my car has had a few rain showers and I have washed it 2 times already.

How long should the sealant last for?

What's the best indicator that it needs more? Driving 50mph and seeing the rain bead off isn't a good indicator, especially when there is no water available.

Thanks for your help,

Ryan

A good indicator is when you wash the car. My windows basically dry themselves when I use the pooling rinse or "sheeting" method. Keep in mind the sealant on the windshield will degrade faster than the rest, due to the action from the wipers, using wiper fluid, etc. I do my windows twice a year (say, april and october) and the windshield will get an extra one or two applications to maintain the protection (april, july, october, and weather permitting, january)

Yep... pay attention to how water behaves on the glass and thats a good indication.

The abrasion of the wipers being used will wear down those areas faster, so you may see better beading up near the corners of the windows where the middle might not bead as well.

If the water 'sticks' to the glass more than it beads, time to clay and re-seal.

I told a friend about Adam's glass sealant, she lives in Seattle and as most of us know it rains often there.

She's going to try it.

In fact she bought other products here and loving them.

She is a noob to say the least but smart.

I love helping the new guys and gals, she emails me with questions daily.lol

Question

Does Adam's glass cleaner/sealant make your glass shine?

I'm funny with it comes to my glass on my car, now I use the FMP & BG. BAM!

In garage during night. But it is my daily commuter car. Why.. Not enough wash?

I'll be the last person to tell someone else when or how often to wash your car but I guess I am surprised because my DD is dirty after one or two days.  Either way this is irrelevant to your question.

I'm with GerryC above.  :)
