New Paint Job...

rex03

Question

Ok, I know that I will need to let the paint cure completely, 2-3 months, before I even think about waxing the new paint job.  While Im waiting, I plan on washing, and detailing using detailing spray.  My question is, once I am ready to wax the paint job, what should I use?  I got confused when it came to sealants, buttery wax, or the paste wax.  I guess Id like to also know if there are multiple products recommended, in what order do you suggest I use them?

Thank you all in advance.  I started using Adams Polishes about 3 years ago, and purchase most of the items through my local dealer...but Im an Adams customer for life.  Amazing stuff.

I recommend you use NO DS until cured.  Stick to WW or bucket washes.  I'd seal the paint with AQS, MSS, or LPS depending on which one you have.  You can then top it with whatever you like.

Keep a bottle of WW and some towels in the car so you can clean bugs and bird poo off fast.

Rex - you are on the right track.  Although it would probably be fine, I might hold off on using any detail spray with wax additives (such as Adams Detail Spray V2) until you have allowed the new paint to fully cure.

I recommend a sealant if the vehicle is a daily driver.  Two coats of a sealant will be a good layer of protection and then you may add a coat of glaze and/or wax of your choice to boost the shine at your discretion.

Its red.  It already has a mirror finish, thanks to the body shop going the extra mile to buff it out.  Thanks for the info.  Im going to have to buy a couple more products.  I wish Adams offered a wheel brush, to get deep into parts of the rims.

Oh, here is a pic of the car.

Welcome Rex, and gorgeous car!

On the wheel brush subject, check with your local Adam's supplier on the "old" Boar's Hair wheel brush and the Wheel Woolies.  If you don't have any luck there, Phil at Detailer's Domain shows the Adam's wheel brush (and one other Boar's hair wheel brush) and Wheel Woolies on his site - http://www.detailersdomain.com/Brushes_c_85.html.
