Storing microfiber revitalizer

gymrat7953

Question

I keep mine in the original gal container as well as the small Adams spray bottle which is where the problem came in.

It ate through the bottom of the Adams spray bottle and left a huge mess. I noticed the spray nozzle had a white crystallized glob on it.

Anyone else see this???

When the Revitalizer was first sold it came in the standard clear 16oz bottle. People soon found out that this plastic did not play well with the chemical and the bottles cracked - mine did too. That's why the Revitalizer is now sold in the 36oz "frosted" plastic (which the DWC originally came in) because it does not react to the chemical in the same way. This bottle is made of HDPE plastic, vs the PETE plastic of the clear bottles. If you've seen Breaking Bad you'll understand the significance of HDPE  ;)

If you've transferred some Revitalizer into a clear plastic Adam's bottle, this is likely the cause.

The 36 oz bottles to my knowledge come with MFR labels already on them, so they aren't sold as "empty" bottles, Nick can correct me if I'm wrong though, I inquired about getting a blank HPDE bottle as well as a DWC label so I could refill DWC straight from the 36oz bottle instead of more frequent refills to the 16 oz, from what we concluded was that he could sell me the empty MFR bottles but they would still have MFR labels on them.

I don't think the 36oz HPDE bottles are bought in big enough quantities to be sold as spares on the website since they only bottle 1 product with it.

Nick, can you add those bottles to the website for purchase? The only ones up there are the clear 16oz bottles.

Sorry Jason, but we don't keep spares of those around like we do the standard bottles.  Since they are only used for a single product, it's tough for us to justify the warehouse space to keep extras of those bottles on hand.

Quick question...  I store the DWC in the "new" clear 16 oz bottles and haven't had a problem.  Should I be concerned about DWC eating through that bottle?

No, Adam's now sells it in the clear bottle.  You will be fine.  They were originally in the HDPE bottles to differentiate it from Adam's other products.

Yep you are good to go.  Although I wish I could find an "old" 36 oz "big boy" DWC bottle, I'd like to get an empty one and just buy a gallon of it to start off, DWC makes a great paint decon prior to claying.  If anyone has one with a good sprayer shoot me a PM.

I've got to buy a new spray bottle for mine.  I was using a 16oz Adams bottle and noticed a soft spot on the side of it under the sticker.  The MF cleaner is some STRONG stuff to eat through plastic like that!  This is the 2nd bottle!

I peeled back the label to find it has a pinhole in it and was VERY thin around it.  Thankfully it didn't leak out as I'd used it all.

From what I understand of MFR and it's janitorial supply equivalent that I use, its basically a really strong degreaser combined with detergents, etc.

From the manufacturer's website "a special blend of surfactants, emulsifiers, chelating agents and water softeners", and from guys I've talked to in the detailing scene, MFR and the equivalent other brand's detergent has a degreaser which is probably stronger than APC in it, which is why they only recommend 1 oz. per normal sized load of laundry.

Imagine 1 oz of APC being able to clean all your towels to perfection?  That takes a STRONG detergent, no wonder it eats through the plastic PETE bottles.

So I am late to this thread. I've had 2 of the clear bottles crack on me with the revitalizer, and I like the idea of spot spraying the heavy areas before the wash.  Are the new "frosted" bottles available now, or is it still not something that is normally stocked? I have 3-4 of the clear bottles that I notice have cracked (other one had the green all purpose cleaner) and am looking to replace the bottles with something that will last.

Thanks!
