Kingsford
I'm curious, if I pay with PayPal does Adam's lose a percentage of my total to a PayPal fee? I've never thought about it before but it crossed my mind today when I placed an order. If Adam's does lose a percent then I will probably stop using PayPal because I'd rather give my money to Adam's rather than another money hungry eBay Inc company. Ricky Bobby
Paypal takes a fee just like Visa/Mastercard, I don't think it could be any worse than Amex LOL We'd have to all pay Adams in cash if we didnt want them to absorb any merchant fees haah

Team Adam's
Yes, PayPal takes their cut from each transaction, as well as credit card merchants. I believe PayPal takes slightly more than VISA/DISC/MC, but less than AMEX.

Feets31
Paypal charges you more to use a credit card I believe. Not sure how it affects the merchant.
SYMAWD
Paypal charges you more to use a credit card I believe. Not sure how it affects the merchant. I don't think they charge the merchant more. I know when I sell stuff through PayPal, I get charged the same amount whether the buyer uses a credit card or their checking account. Also, Adam's is a business. I'm sure they have all of these fees incorporated into their prices. Edited April 21, 2014 by SYMAWD
Blue17CamaroZL1
Paypal takes a fee out based upon the total income brought in by the merchant. I used paypal to accept credit cards for my DJ business: Purchase payments received (monthly) Fee per transaction $0.00 USD - $3,000.00 USD 2.9% + $0.30 USD $3,000.01 USD - $10,000.00 USD 2.5% + $0.30 USD $10,000.01 USD - $100,000.00 USD 2.2% + $0.30 USD > $100,000.00 USD 1.9% + $0.30 USD Edited April 22, 2014 by Blue10CamaroSS
eric@thompsonracing.us
Not only do they charge you a fee to use their merchant account, they charge another 3% or so to withdraw the money. So, if you do not buy your inventory through them, you are essentially getting hit around 5% to use Paypal. We do not use PayPal on our site because of this reason. Not only are they brutal, but they make eBay even worse! I don't know how companies sell products on eBay. The markup has to be enormous! It's very simple, money goes where it's wanted. I haven't used Paypal in 10 years and as long as they charge like this, I hope business moves away from them.
Feets31
I mostly use Paypal to send 'gifts' to my kid. It doesn't cost me anything, but the amount is not big either.
Ricky Bobby
I was wondering the same thing about eBay, it's ridiculous. I think eBay takes a 10% commission right? And then PayPal fees since you use them. And since eBay owns PayPal, they are making double profit.

And since eBay owns PayPal, they are making double profit. That is correct. That is one of the ways in which Meg Whitman (then CEO of Ebay) helped turn Ebay around back 5-10 years ago.
