Getting ready for winter question

I know it has probably been covered somewhere at some time. In prep for winter, what is the best thing to put on my truck? I would assume it would be liquid paint sealant. However with that being said would I apply that over the patriot that I put on 4 months ago, or strip the truck and apply sealant. In the spring it got the whole clay, polish, seal and wax. Thanks for any help.

You are correct LPS is the way to go, it's the most durable. As far as the 4 Month old Patriot wax. you could do a strip wash and Clay to remove any leftover wax. You can apply more patriot over the LPS also.

I really don't want to clay it again. What if I just washed it will a little APC and then applied LPS?

I would do the plastic bag test after the strip wash and make sure you don't need to clay. If you don't think it needs it at that point, then seal away.

Claying is a pain especially if you have a large vehicle. I do my truck about twice a year but am finding I should probably do it 3 times a year.

I wouldn't worry about claying it now.  Let's face it, for years and years the most we all did was a good coat of wax before winter and our cars held up just fine.  

I would give it a good wash and test your paint with a plastic bag.  If it's not bad enough to clay, I'd honestly just throw on another coat of wax and call it a day.  You'll be fine waiting till spring.
