Carpet burn

Agbull

Question

Any experts out there have suggestions on repair of a carpet burn (probably from a cigarette).  Located between passenger door sill and seat rail.  Used car for wife and would really like to repair it/cover it up somehow.  Searched forums but I did not see anything related.  Any thoughts/guidance will be greatly appreciated.

I haven't tried to remove small burn marks from a carpet in many years, probably been a couple decades. The last time I did this I found that using the rough side of a quarter (25 cent piece) along with your favorite cleaning solution worked well. The rough edge of the quarter is aggressive enough to help tear apart slightly burnt/melted carpet fibers, though the look of the carpet will look slightly different in this spot due to the carpet fibers loosing their twist from the aggressive nature of the quarter edge.

Apologies for the delay, but I was out of town this past week and did not have access to the vehicle.  Please reference these two photos.  The burn is pretty deep but does not seem to be all the way through the carpet.  Thanks again for any help provided.post-5319-0-83872300-1416180227_thumb.jpgpost-5319-0-43165900-1416180283_thumb.jpg

^^^bingo. Dent wizard actually has an interior division which specializes in fixing holes/years in leather and cloth seats, as well as carpet repair, without replacement of the part.

Yep, one of the dealers I work at even has a guy that does headliners. It's amazing what they can fix.

Kinda hard to tell from the picture, but could you go to an audio install place and see if they have a scrap piece of that carpet stuff that they wrap speaker box's with?  Find something that closely matches your interior, and cut it into the shape necessary and glue it in.  That way your not cutting a hole someplace else to fill the void.
