Quick poll to get a feel for the demand. Previously this option was featured, but less than 2% of all customers ever accessed it.

A wish list would allow you to add items to a separate list and keep them there indefinitely, then transfer some or all to your cart for purchase when you want.

Right now you can keep items in your cart for up to 30 days, but you do have to checkout with all items that are there when you do.

Give us your feedback.

I really like that or a recently viewed items tracker. I did use the wish list some times on the old site. So yeah I would use it again. Sometimes I know I want something but its not a necessity yet or can wait for a sale so thats the beauty of the wishlist to me. Maybe if it was enhanced to shoot an email saying these items in your wishlist are on sale? Am I asking for too much? Maybe the site will become self aware if we keep this up.

Agree with Matt, SYMAWD on this.

Typically, I would think most members know what they want or need, and usually purchase it when they can, or are able too.

Although a Wish List may be a nice feature, if unused by the majority, it requires the website to use more resources or storage space than normal, and increases website costs to Adam's, which then would mean that these additional costs would have to be passed onto the end user consumer through price increases on some of the products to offset the increased operational costs.

I disagree to a large extent with costs being incurred by a feature of a Website. This aint rocket science. We arent saying hey Adams please revamp the site or install artificial intelligence or predictive capability. Pretty sure the benefit they could gain from slaes is worth what little effort it takes to implement. Really?!?

I think I remember on the old Wish List that if an item was temporarily out-of-stock, it would drop off the list. If possible with the new site, the Wish List should not drop items, as you end up not ordering something you needed because it was OOS for a short time.

It would be nice if this "wish list" had an alternative that allowed for me to track what I currently have, vs. what I need. So if I am low on shampoo, BANG it is in my cart as a suggestion.

Now that would be sweet.

BY THE WAY... If you need a developer to help with this I work for Detail Spray *wink wink*

Currently I track everything in a spread sheet...but having it integrated inside of the site would be shhhwwweeett.

EDIT: It would also help on quick 24 hour sales...lets me know what I need, what I want, and what I could actually use. Also helps preventing me from ordering stuff I don't need (aka, bought too much of it already)

Since the new site went live (without a wish list feature) I have kept a shopping list in the garage.  Works just as well, I guess.

I have been using a paper list as well, only problem is it is on my desk at home and so when I place an order when I am not at home, I can't always remember what is on the list.  Sometimes when a quick sale hits or you see an item go on Daily Special, you have to jump on it right away, not wait until you can get home and check your shopping list.  That's where the Wish List is nice, you can access it from wherever you are.

You can keep a list as a Google Doc and that is accessible everywhere.

I have and definitely would again use a wish list. First my family would know what to buy me for my birthday and for Christmas. Secondly I use it as my shopping list for things I need to reorder. Never missed a thing that way. Also when special sales come along I can add what I need to the order so I can place it quickly if there are time or quantity limits.

  • 2 weeks later...

Still seems like some "it would be nice" but not a lot of "must haves" and a fair amount of "nope".

The development costs to get this working in a basic function isn't huge money, but it is a couple grand - at this point I'm sure there are other features we could add that would make everyone happier.

I.e. - a fully functional and automated updating daily special back on the site. The current function has bugs.
