Sizzle Chest
Wifey and I are on a week+ long road trip! Headed up to the cabin in NC to attend a big Porsche event as well as relax and see some sights... We split the drive up into two days. Left SW FL and stopped in Savanah GA for the night. Left the next morning and arrived at the cabin mid-afternoon. The drive was very good...uneventful. Traffic and weather were very good. Got up to the cabin and the weather was PERFECT! Upper 70's, low humidity and sunny, blue skies! Fired up some chicken on the grill and had a very enjoyable evening out on the deck! The next day, today, was spectacular as well! Beautiful weather! (glad, cuz it's supposed to rain the next couple days) Again high 70's, blue skies, sunny... Got up and hit the Blue Ridge Parkway and decided to go up to Mt. Mitchell. Made some new friends at the top! Some fellow Porsche owners. 1965 911 and a 1957 356 Coupe!!! Hung out with the owners and chatted a while and then hiked up to the summit and checked out the views! Headed back down and stopped at a few lookout points for a couple photo opportunities. Cruised the Blue Ridge a little more and wound up in a little town called Spruce Pine and had some lunch! Hopped back on the Blue Ridge, headed home, fired up some dogs on the grill...Yes! Awesome. Hung out on the deck, perused the forums, got the fire pit going and had a few cocktails! A PERFECT day! I will update this as our adventure continues! rwisejr, TheWolf, Ace22 and 1 other

Black Bowtie
Beautiful area. Was down there with a group on motorcycles in the fall when the leaves were changing. Are you going to run the Tail of the Dragon? Fun ride and you get to meet some great people. http://tailofthedragon.com/ Edited May 26, 2015 by Black Bowtie
Sizzle Chest
Rich, we may. I've run it a bunch of times before and it just seems to be getting even more crowded every year! It's a great run and some of the other surrounding roads are almost, if not better than the Dragon! I'll keep this thread updated with our adventures! Sizzle Chest
Thanks again all! Hey Buddy! Yeah man, we are having a blast! I've never driven this car so hard before...Florida is too flat! It is such a capable machine. I am only 'nervous' when I think I am going into a turn too hot...for a split second, then the car is like, "yeah, I got this!". So great to be able to do that. So much FUN! Didn't do much today, had plumbing issue and was waiting on the plumber for longer than I anticipated. I enjoyed it though! Sat out on the deck, had a snack and read some car mags! Gonna grill up some dinner here in an hour or so and then retire to the fire pit for a while and then watch some TV...and then see what tomorrow has in store! Later all! LFairbanks
Thanks for sharing the pictures. Looks pretty there. I have to chuckle though at picture number 6. That isn't very high. When it comes time to move the mountains and southern desert will be the hardest part to give up. Edited May 27, 2015 by LFairbanks

Sizzle Chest
ZO6: I am SUPER crazy/anal about my cars and just the thought of all the bugs, grime, chips etc that could happen make me cringe. I have already gotten a few chips in the front end, and one on those fat hips she has...I will be touching them up upon our return. Put a bra on it and go! It is so much fun and so enjoyable! We will be heading out on another little cruise here in a little bit! I will see if I can do the map for you! Headed out for a cruise... Sizzle Chest
Woke up to another beautiful day!!! It rained last night, and we are expecting a bunch more that is supposed to come through, however, it has held off again! Took a nice drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway to a little town called Little Switzerland. Very cool place. It has an Inn, restaurant, shops, etc there. Up on top of a nice mountain with some great views off the back deck. It was a bit cloudy today, so the views weren't as good as they usually are! Blasted through a few tunnels and listened to that flat 6 wail!!! I shot a few vids, but there is too much wind noise, I will redo them again if I can, before we leave. A funny story: Right before this trip, I lowered the 911. I installed H&R Sport springs which lowers the front 1.2" and the rear 1". I really think it 'needed' to be lowered...it had quite a wheel gap from the factory. IMO it looks soooooooooo much better dropped down! Well anyway, fast forward to our arrival at the cabin...I couldn't get the b!tch into the garage! The grade was too steep, a little bit of a drop off and a lip of concrete for the garage floor pad. Well did I hear it! "If you didn't ruin it, we would have been able to make into the garage no problem!". A little back story: she had 'forbidden' me to do anything to this car. I always 'ruin' all of the cars I have by doing things to them! LOL. I just can't help myself! I have to put my stamp on them somehow! I got the FVD exhaust by her...this one, I just couldn't! HAHA. So.....I had an engineering project on my hands...I had to build a bridge so I could get the car inside! I didn't want it living outside with all the pollen, sap, etc up here! My finished 'bridge', does what it needs to, project! LOL!!!! LFairbanks, PT3 and mc2hill
LFairbanks
Busted!!!!....lol. How are you able to get stuff like that done, without getting caught having it done? I have a hard time slipping camera equipment, or a tool by, let alone something done to a vehicle.
