HELP!! Cant believe it did this..Super VRT on paint

Nicksblown71ss

Question

So I spent a good 6 hours yesterday correcting the paint on my '09 CTS-V. I finished off yesterday with a coat of machine super wax so that I could let it sit for a day and knock out the glaze and americana early this morning. I woke up early, went out to the garage and grabbed my "glaze" and did the entire car. After I finished I started wiping it off...only it wasnt coming off that easily. I grabbed the bottle to read the directions about wait time and thats when i realized it......I just used Super VRT on my ENTIRE car!!! S.O.B. It took a little more arm strength but I got most of it off. Still a little oily in spots. Maybe Detail Spray or a coat of actual glaze will remove it, I havent tried anything yet. Other than me being a dumbass I wanted to get your thoughts on what affects the VRT might have. Can I still glaze..should I wait...should i strip it off with multi purpose cleaner?

Have to admit, you made me giggle this morning  :D

Come on it could have happened to anyone. Both bottles had the same amount in them, they're the same color and not to far off in consistancy. Ended up wiping car down with detail spray, then applied glaze and americana. No issues, looks great. Guarantee I'll never do that again!! Lesson learned.

Don't feel bad.  I once mistook a gallon of Detail Spray for a gallon of pink lemonade.  Poured it over ice and took several healthy swigs before realizing my mistake.

(Actually - I am just trying to make you feel better.  I didn't really do that.  But I COULD have if I was a knucklehead who wasn't paying attention.)

That's why I thought it was funny, if it had done some damage it wouldn't have been funny

I nearly made a similar mistake.  While doing my paint correction, I was moving onto the fine machine polish.  I put the white pad on my flex, put a few pea sized drops onto the pad...  then sat there and looked at it for a second.  It looked off to me for some reason.  I picked up the bottle and realized I had just put SVRT onto the pad.  Fortunately I didn't use it!

I've attempted to correct a car with leather conditioner before - took me a few minutes of going "hmmm... this polish smells like fresh leather..." before I stopped and looked at the bottle. We're all entitled to the occasional brain lock up now and then. Good thing is its not anything that could cause you major problems.
