ASK THE SHINE DOC - Ep. 9: Glass Cleaning Tips

Recommended Posts

Week 9 of Ask The Shine Doc covers one of the most hated topics in detailing - GLASS CLEANING! No one genuinely likes to clean windows, and if we're being honest most of us hate it. In the end however, clean and streak free glass is just a big a part of the detail as anything else. In this video we'll cover a few basic tip, some you may have heard before, some you may have not. Enjoy!

On the multiple towel idea: I like to use a waffle weave towel - one that's usually been demoted from use on paint - to remove a majority of the dirt first, and then follow up with a glass towel to tackle streaks and bring out the clarity.

Massive Adams wrap because thats the salary that pays the mortgage, haha.  Its called marketing and brand recognition lol.  Just driving around Dylan can gain some customers they might not have had before.

Did you guys use a drone to film on the intro?  Lol!

I get it, just seemed funny that all his other trucks were all debaged and clean looking, and this one is a rolling billboard. Just thaught maybe there is more to it, like the truck was going to be used for something to do with the company.. Edited by zxgto06

Great vid! Dylan I have to ask tho....why the massive Adams wrap on the raptor!??!!

Just like Jason pointed out - the performance of this little company directly impacts my ability to provide for my family and increasingly more (due to the weekly videos and amount of content I'm putting out into the world) my face is synonymous with Adam's. If a viable case could be made that an Adam's logo tattoo would help sales and visibility I might be convinced to get one.

My previous cars would've never made sense to wrap b/c they weren't in the right color family - this one being bright red, the substantial following we have in the Raptor community, it just makes sense. Also, because of the visibility it gets our friends at various companies have jumped at the chance to get their accessories onto this truck.

The dudes at Apollo Optics hooked it up huge with a crazy lighting setup, Bedrug and TruXedo hooked up a liner and cover combo. Toyo tires and Discount Tire got the wheel and tires together for us. Corsa has already contributed some go fast goodies, with more on the way. As an "Adam's branded truck" it gets a lot of visibility, and as a result can help our friends market their brand as well. I've had offers for custom seating, suspension, etc all to be a part of a truck that will be seen everywhere.

Plus, I got to design the wrap and I think it looks killer!

It does look very nice! My reason for askin, over the last few years of seeing your trucks online, I know your a fan of the no badge clean look. This truck seems to be out of your norm. It does grab your attention! Nice job on the design of it. Maybe make a thread of the performance upgrades to this truck if you have time?!

I would have to agree with Jim. I use the Glass Cleaner quite sparingly, 1-2 quick sprays per window, and it gives me nice clean windows with no streaking. I still have a 1/2 gallon of the old formula because it lasts so long for me.

I haven't tried diluting Glass Cleaner, but if you decide to experiment with it, I would strongly suggest using distilled water only to dilute it.
