Matt@Adams
Hello! Here at Adam's we relentlessly pursue perfection with our products, our customer service and our website. That being said, I wanted to let you know we have a large handful of upgrades coming to the website over the next few months. Most of them are small upgrades to your shopping cart, formatting on mobile, formatting on tablets etc... In the last 2 weeks we have: 1. Upgraded our visual banners on the homepage from 2000px by 550px to 2000px by 700px. What does this mean? Banners are a better size for photography and should display much nicer in on your desktop as a large visual call out. 2. Upgraded our cart to have an easier time removing or updating quantities! Previously we had a small x on the website that was very hard to click. Quite a few customers mentioned it was difficult to click that x, so we found a solution that should work great. (Here was the issue: http://www.adamsforums.com/topic/28931-problem-removing-items-from-the-cart-sometimes/ ) The resolution was adding a "remove, update quantity" field in the checkout process for each sku. 3. Changed formatting on our homepage for tablets. The top navigation on our homepage was formatting incorrectly on tablets and pushed the text into another field. This made it difficult to navigate. Now, around iPad dimensions, our site will resize. 4. Persistent Shopping Cart! When you add an item to your cart, we will now hold those items in your cart for you for 27 days! That means you can come back and shop without having your cart cleared out each time. REMEMBER, these items will be cleared out if you empty your cache before the 27 days. 5. On our homepage, The "SHOP NEW PRODUCTS" & "SHOP ALL SPECIALS" tab now actually lead to those pages. Previously they landed on pages that made.... no sense. Plus... we did a few other minor changes that no one will notice, I bet. In the next few weeks, we have more changes coming to improve your shopping experience with us! Like... New mobile banners for anything smaller than a tablet. Fixing the daily special and secondary specials box on the bottom of the homepage. Deleting the second banner on the homepage (the guy kissing Detail Spray) on anything smaller than a tablet. Adding a 4th "New Product" on the homepage, instead of just 3. And more. DO YOU HAVE ANY INPUT FOR US? LET US KNOW WHAT ELSE DRIVES YOU CRAZY, OR JUST TELL US WHAT WOULD BE NICE SO I CAN DO SOME RESEARCH AND GET IT INTO DEVELOPMENT. rkj4243
Matt, Thanks for the updates! Site looks good, and the saved cart for 27 days should help those who always wanted the ability to store items for a later purchase date! texinfin
Matt: Don't know if this one has been mentioned but when you go down the page and click add to cart below an item it takes you back to the top of the page. It would be nice to stay where you click on that so you can continue to go down the page without having to try to find out where you were. Good input, and that is on the list for developers already. We are testing a few options, including a "sticky" top bar that would keep all of the main top bar while you scroll to easily navigate and keep the page from scrolling up when you add to your cart. Stay tuned!

Feets31
I am always logged in to the forum. but have to log on each trip to the cart. That tells me the two pages are not tied together, but could they be? Or is it better that they are not? Matt@Adams

cweidert03
What about a wish list option that could be emailed to my inlaws so I actually get a present I might use instead of a case of mothers protectant!! Feets31
TheWolf
What about a wish list option that could be emailed to my inlaws so I actually get a present I might use instead of a case of mothers protectant!! The Wish List option was discussed in this thread: http://www.adamsforums.com/topic/27921-would-you-use-a-wish-list-feature-on-the-site/?hl=feature
TheWolf
I would love to have an "ORDER FORM" feature that I recall seeing on another website. I think there may have also been one in the Wholesale section on the old website. It is basically a long list of all the products, no pictures, with a box by each product to enter the quantity for the items you want, and then one button to "ADD ALL TO CART". It would save a lot of time not having to navigate around to pick up stuff you know you need. The current website looks great, and is good for customers that want to see the descriptions, videos and reviews on each product. But for hard-core detailing consumers like me, I already know what I want, and I want to order fast and easy. The list would need to be categorized, so things were easy to find without having to scan the whole list. The categories would be the same as the current ones in the navigation bar. The products would need to be listed within those sections in a orderly manner, ie: group all the 4" pads together, then the 6" pads, the 7" and then the hand applicators, just like they currently are on the website. Then, all the gallons and fivers would be at the bottom. To make it even more fun, add a timer feature that starts a stopwatch as soon as you get on the page, and then have a contest to see who can buy the most stuff in the shortest time! ndkid
I would like a show all products button that listed ALL products by category: interior, exterior, clearance, etc. The old show all button on the home page would not show all products or combos that were found in different categories. I would like one place to take for a quick look at all: new products, sales, clearance, limited items, promos etc. Matt@Adams
Nudge
Add a return-to-top-of-page (Top) action button at the bottom of the page. Sometimes on the products pages and on the forum, I'd like to be able to jump to the top of the page instead of scrolling with repeated finger flicks, to access the menus and tabs on an iPad. KSRegalGS
Personally, I think it would be nice to have the website redirect me back to my previous screen after I login to my account. I dislike having to login to be taken away from what I was looking at to see my account profile.

We have some testing on our dev site for this currently. I think the solution I will choose would be to sticky the entire top bar. Doing this would allow you to navigate the shopping tab easier and would not scroll you back to the top.

Bob_Macomb
I like TheWolf (Dan) idea for an order form that has all the product and prices on one page. I think that it could possibly look like the order invoice that we get when we order. I like that layout. Just have a column for us to add our quantity and add to the cart. Matt@Adams
A few more changes went live today! Here's what we did. 1. Upgraded our SSL Certificate! When you log in to your account you will see a new "green bar". I attached a picture of what you will see below: This new SHA2 Extended Validation bar is just here to maintain security on portions of the website where you enter personal information and payment. This new version is the most recent standard. 2. Updated our homepage to have 4 new products, instead of 3. Plus we removed the second banner which was taking up valuable space on mobile devices and tablets. We are also working on reformatting the homage to be friendly on all devices. Believe it or not, this can be difficult... with so many phones, tablets and computers we have to resize the site at a number of pixel widths to look perfect. Often times we have more than just a few products that are considered "new". Now we can show you more new products and keep everything uniform on the homepage as you downsize your browser to tablets or mobile. Here is the tablet view (mobile will likely be 2 across or even 1, not 4): 3. What else? During checkout, we added an optional step where you can choose if someone helped you make your purchase. WHY? We have so many people call in that have questions about their order, but they forget who they talked to about it. This will allow us to see who you spoke with, and allow us to provide first class service. Our sales reps will be able to monitor orders where they helped customers to follow up when needed to make sure the experience is better than ever. Here is what it looks like: 4. What's next? New banners for anything under 700 pixels will be pushed live to the site tomorrow. On mobile phones, a rectangle image just doesn't cut it. It's hard to read and you can barely see the image. Moving forward, you will see completely different mobile banners that are 700x700 pixels and make shopping on mobile devices much nicer. Many more changes coming soon...
