Quick question about pads and backing plates

Hi all,

 

I have the 7424 with the old school backing plate (think SHR and FMP). I'm wondering if the new gen of 7" pads will fit this backing plate?

If you have a 6" backing plate then yes the 7" Gen5 pads will work.

If you need to replace any pads, I would recommend moving down to the smaller 6" sizes.  They work much better on the PC.  I switched several years ago (same Buff&Shine pads that Adams sold, just in the 5.5" size), and I get better, faster results.

You will get better, faster results, so if you do that, just make sure you pick up the 5" PC backing plate in order for the smaller 5.5" and 6" pads to fit correctly.
