Sidekick? Do I pull the trigger?

jackdurkin63

Question

Whats up Guys,

Was just wondering for some input on the sidekick, I always glanced over it but now with the sale going on the price isn't really that bad, There are parts of my truck like the grill inserts, engine bay, and other small places that can hold water and there really a pain in the butt to get dry. Im sure there is a thread just like this on here but just wanted some feedback. Anything would be much appreciated!

I absolutely love mine and use it for all of the areas you mentioned plus body panel seams, headlights, taillights, emblems, wheels and so on :) I will use it on every wash now if I don't want to roll out the big boy Master Blaster, as the Sidekick does make for easier drying and less headaches. I will even use it in the interior to blast dust off of the dash or HVAC vents.

sweet, I had a feeling that was going to be the answer! I haven't justified dropping the money for the master blaster (yet) and wanted something in-between for the time being. Thanks for the answers, I'm going to put the order in real soon.  :2thumbs:

My Sidekick has been relegated to dog drying and accessory drying and the occasional spot cleaning.

My dog has a panic attack anytime the vacuum cleaner comes out.  I can only imagine what she would think if I tried to use that to dry her.  She's 12, and to this day has NEVER been attacked by the vacuum....not sure why she's so afraid of it.

I really love this tool.  I do mostly rinseless washes now, so it doesn't get a lot of use on the body areas as much, but I do wash wheels with a standard bucket wash more often.  The sidekick is great for getting water out of the lug areas and other crevices.

Yeah thats what I was looking for, something to use for the lug nuts, Heads and tail lights, and underneath the mirrors. Nothing worse than spending a few hours on your truck and then pulling out and driving down the road just to get a bunch of streak marks and water flung around from the lug nuts. I know iv read plenty of threads that say people who never justified dropping 400 for the master blaster, but when they do they wished they did it a long time ago, I'm just not ready to do that yet haha.

The simple answer is yes, you will love it, the question thou is will you regret not just going whole hog into a Master Blaster....thou it is overkill for most.

Check out Adams recent drying vid (I want to say its 5a in the series, it was released about a week ago or so)

It's a HUGE bang for the buck for $70 on sale.

I use mine for following:

-blowdrying wheels and tires after washes (so I'm able to dress tires sooner)

-blowing cracks and crevices after wash obviously

-blow drying my dog after a bath with the small extension hose sold from Metro (he loves it and it's not much louder than a hair dryer and so much better on his coat)

-blow drying rubber floor mats after they are cleaned scrubbed and rinsed

-blowing out dust and random dirt of the interior before I vacuum and wipe down (gets a ton out of the interior just open the doors and blow away!)

-blow drying engine after cleaning and rinsing

And that's just the beginning but that's a ton of uses and value for me for a $70 investment :)

Here is how I look at it.  And some may have a different opinion.  You may end up wanting to get the Master Blaster after trying the sidekick and will have spent X amount to purchase it and then get the MB later.   In essence spending more money that had you of just bought the MB to begin with.

What is everyones thoughts on the

AIR FORCE BLASTER B3-CD WITH 30 FOOT HOSE ?

Is it too small for most cars?

Its been mentioned before and recently I did it myself, you CAN dry an entire care with the sidekick so I would think the B3-CD could handle it. Was a whole lot nicer not having to deal with water spots when working outside and just being able to blow out the cracks and seams before polishing.
