Ls1transam
So the undercarriage spray is amazing. Been on my moms truck for 2 weeks now. And it looks like I've just applied it. It's been on my TA for a month and still holding! This stuff is amazing! It's lays down so smooth and leaves a nice satin finish. The VRT is crazy good. I use it for all the trim and for tire dressing. I'm not too crazy about the actual Adams Tire Shine. Here is a pic of some work I did this morning. And don't mind the heavy swirls. I'm still learning, and will be removing those when the weather cools off later this month or next. Texas Moe, Dan@Adams and mc2hill

Ls1transam
Well, pretty let down today. It rained last night. The VRT had ran all down the side of the bed because of the rain. Not so pleased with it right now.

Not so pleased with it right now. John, I haven't personally experienced this problem with VRT but I have seen several other posts on these forums from users with similar experiences. Hopefully someone who has more experience with this problem will chime in. My recollection is that folks advise you to go back over areas treated with VRT with a clean, dry towel to mop up any product that wasn't absorbed and is just sitting on top of the trim. This may not completely prevent the runoff but will minimize it as much as possible.

red94chev
Yep, VRT will definitely run if put down heavy since its a water based dressing. The good thing is that it won't stain other surfaces and it washes off easily. But most people are going to wash their car after it rains anyway. Ls1transam
I'll try and do lighter coats and wipe off excess next time.
chops1sc
Yep, I use it on my bed rails (Rhino Lining) and if it rains it will run. I have come to terms with this since I would be re-washing after rain anyway. Wiping down does help some, though.
Ls1transam
If it's always going to run off, I won't use it anymore. Unless it's for tire dressing or the engine bay.
Dan@Adams
VRT is a water resistant product but not completely waterproof, so if it rains a few hours after applying, there is a good possibility that it may run, especially on a flat surface like a bed rail. I will always wipe down plastic and rubber trim with some APC in an Edgeless Utility Towel first to remove any old dirt/dressing/etc from the areas before applying VRT, then once it is applied I will wipe over the plastics with one of my older Single Soft Towels. rrmccabe
I had a running issue once when using it on the box side covers on my dads truck. Since then I have buffed it down very lightly with a double soft and never had an problem.
Ls1transam
Well it rained again. And again, it ran all down the paint. I'll try to clean the plastic real good and then reapply. And buff off any access to see if that helps.
Ls1transam
Even though it's ran off twice. The panel is still very dark.
Triumph Man
Interesting that only the excess may have run off, all the trim products I have used cover well initially longevity measured in weeks My wells are plastic plus fabric so some VRT may be just the product for a well cleaned surface.
