Question

Geebee's body shop is now in business! LOL my wifes car had some pretty bad scratches that we didn't notice when we got the car. To satisfy my Auto Detailing case of OCD, I wen to work. OK, so a small pat on the back from me to me....LOL All the scratches came out thank goodness.

Are you sure those were scratches? Not to take away from the nice work you did, but to show up that heavy in a picture and come out so nice seems almost unbelievable. I've seen fairly often where something off the road gets flung up off the tire in a line like that, whether it be tar or something else. That's what it looks like to me, especially at the very bottom in the first picture where it's in a very irregular pattern.

...or maybe they are not the classic scratches that can be deep enough to catch a finger nail but rather a much shallower and wider abrasion caused by something blunt rather than something sharp. More like a "scrape". Or maybe transfer of material to the paint from something. Much like many minor parking lot contact. Sometimes what looks like badly in need of a re-paint can be clean up with a minor polishing.

Regardless, nice save!

Joel,

I think the scratches were from road "chit" or a bush that scrapped the fender while pulling out of a driveway. Anyway, the scratches were just deep enough for me to think I might need a major fix. (fingernail test) After 2 passes with Adams Heavy Correcting Polish with the Micro Fiber Pad then the Foam Pad, they started to diminish. So I kept on going and got the final result you see in the pics. It took a while!

I was thinking the same thing. Whatever it was, it turned out really nice.
