DIZZYDEVIL
I used the deep wheel cleaner today on my zl1, and the rotors seemed to be stained but not the rims. Please help!!
0 TheWolf
Were the rotors hot, had the car just been driven? Did the product dry on the rotors before being rinsed? Post some photos of the issue.

Post some photos of the issue. They weren't hot I only backed out the garage. It wasn't dry on the rims but it might have dried on the rotors. Even the one I was working on immediately it stained it
0 TheWolf
It looks like the product dried on the rotors. Have you driven the car to see if the brake pads wear off any of the staining? Norton

0 2quikta
Normal and fine. The rotors will clean themselves with use. The only way to retain clean rotors while washing wheels is to take the wheel off to clean. DIZZYDEVIL and Norton

0 Rich
My rotors actually turn to what looks like rust after I clean them. I just back up and go forward a few times in the driveway and it's all good. PlainOleS5 and Norton
0 LFairbanks
I'm sure driving it around the block and that will be gone. DIZZYDEVIL
0 Dwhite0960
Nothing different than sitting in the rain a few days and having spots, as soon as you take a nice drive they will be back to normal Norton and DIZZYDEVIL
0 LT1xL82
On a related note... I do not use Wheel Cleaner when the Corvette wheels are on the car. Reason being, it has carbon ceramic brakes and they are known to stain. Instead, I use 16:1 diluted Car Shampoo when the wheels are on the car. (The wheels are protected with Quick Sealant and CCBs dust less than some other brakes.)
0 stingrayc7
Just drive your car and it's gone.. Any wheel cleaner or car soap will do the same to the rotors.. It's totally fine. Norton
0 LT1xL82
I'm not so sure about that Mohammad. CCBs are different than ceramic brake pads...the CCB rotors are a carbon ceramic material, not iron. Considering the replacement cost of CCB rotors, I'm keeping Wheel Cleaner away from them. 0 SumBeach35
Wheel cleaner is some strong stuff. It damaged the factory coating on my GF's 2017 Ford Explorer front brake calipers. Did it on first wash, was used at full strength at the recommended dwell time. It may have still been a bit warm from a trip earlier in the day. It sucks it happened but I'm sure I'll eventually paint them when the new wheel and tire package gets picked out. Everything will be coated at the same time. 0 dskinsler83
why is there so much panic when people clean the wheels and this happens to rotors? This is normal oxidation in a rapid form from the aggressive cleaning solvent. it is surface level only, move the car 20ft and use the brakes and boom it is gone. As far as CBC rotors, I dunno but it is still a solid surface but posing the question to adams tech support would be best for those. 0 texinfin
why is there so much panic when people clean the wheels and this happens to rotors? If it happens to your 2004 Toyota Camry that is fine. When it happens to a Camaro ZL1 that costs 60k panic mode ensues until you find out everything is ok. 8675309'SS, Fubusux, DIZZYDEVIL and 1 other

And yeah depending on the weather etc I can have rusted looking rotors overnight. Shoot look at them on cars at the dealership. They can do they same as well.
