New 4inch pads

pirahnah3

Question

Ok, got a question that I thought some others might have as well.

The new 4in blue pads (not the MF ones) are they the same as my blue metal polishing pads?

Also, are you going to do a 4in pad kit or even just a heavy correction kit with the MF and Blue pads?

Good questions Jim.

My initial thoughts are the new blue foam pads will be slightly different firmer, denser foam than the orange foam pads due to being recommended for the new Heavy Correcting Polish.

This is based upon what was mentioned about the new 5.5" pads previously released.

I believe the blue foams for Metal Polish are lighter density, softer pads due to the very fine or the more liquid properties of Metal Polish compounds.

Also wondering and waiting for more information or confirmation too.

I'm with Jim, this pad situation is starting to hurt my head a bit.  I would love to see a bundle of 4" as I noticed they were spread all over the store page.   I originally thought the blue color was confusing too.  I'm also needing to figure out what my flex will use, if I order new pads, which ones, and do I need adapters for it.  Its been a while since I've polished anything so my pads seem dated, not even sure which gen I have.  I just haven't dug into the checking on it yet.  In another thread I brought up an idea of selling my flex and PC, and getting the SK and the mini just to simplify the situation.  But not sure I will go through with that

They're two different pads with different foam density's and cell structure. Both have the same wavy face design, the new 4" blue foam pad for paint is taller than the metal polish foam pad. Both have the same face diameter.
