SS LeadFoot
So I am getting ready to take some pics of my 2 cars. 1 problem I am not sure how I want to line them up. Any ideas on how to stage them/line them up?

SS LeadFoot
I like that idea. Any others?
tmccoy2236
I've always liked this view (slightly different than above). While photography is not really my thing, I've always found that the background can really make or break any image in terms of making it 'pop'. So, while you may find the perfect position for the vehicles, don't overlook the background. mc2hill, SS LeadFoot, 8675309'SS and 2 others

scoe141
I'd find a clean background free of clutter, distractions etc. One of the best ways to showcase the cars is using a setup like the image above. You want to show as much as the cars as possible. What type of camera are you using?
SS LeadFoot
I will use a GoPro and prob a Sony point and shoot. Nothing too fancy.
falcaineer
For the background, choose something that compliments the car(s) in its "native" format. Think a Jeep on a dirt road...or a Prius by an electric substation . Watch for anything "growing" out of the car, like light poles. Backgrounds can also make it appear the car is split in half, so be careful. Curbs are an example if the pic is taken at the right (read: wrong) angle. Good lighting is important, with pics at sunrise and sunset providing especially nice effects. Pics taken from ground level looking up at the car gives a pretty sweet result. Different than the usual "looking straight at the car" picture. Check out manufacturer websites for some other ideas. They have pros take them...and we buy the cars as a result! Looking forward to your results (hint, hint!). PacificNWBuckeye and SS LeadFoot
scoe141
Nice. Yea, I'd do some research, find out some good locations in your area. Make sure to post them when you're finished!
SS LeadFoot
Oh I will def post the pics. What good are pics if you can't share them I think I have a perfect spot, but it may have a no trespassing sign. If it does then its a no go. Lol got into a little fender bender just waiting to get the car back. Looking forward to the pics. Think of this as another opportunity to paint correct the car once back from the shop. Also a good time for a clear bra, if you were ever considering one.

Rich
Any more, you're down to a 50/50 chance of getting anywhere alive. People just don't pay attention when they drive. I wish they'd ban cell phones all together in the car.
SS LeadFoot
I agree 100% Rich! It is crazy! I drive in dc traffic every day and it is crazy the amount of people not paying attention because of their phone. This lady wasn't on her phone, she was just stupid. falcaineer

Hupp2it
I think partly cloudy days are the best for American pony or muscle cars. Something about the unstable sky makes the cars more badass. If you can catch clouds reflected in the paint... holy crap that's car pron right there. A day like this is perfect. Too bad my car isn't in this pic... jus a viper, a vette... some Ferrari Edited May 12, 2017 by Hupp2it
