First Attempt at Paint Correction

Got a solid day in doing a full paint correction on my Camaro... PO must not of known how to wash black cars... lots of moderate swirls in the whole car.  Used all Adam's products but one.. Adam's doesn't make a soft top sealant, so had to use a competitors product.  Strip washed, clay bar, Correction Polish, Finishing Polish, LPS, Glaze followed by Buttery Wax.  Took me around 8hrs but time well spent.

Looks great!

Time well spent. :2thumbs:

Just know that black seems to be more of a career to keep clean and swirl free than any other color,

but there is no other color that looks as spectacular than a shiny, detailed black car!

Really nice job, I've always wondered how hard it would be to take care of a soft top...

So far the cleaner I used worked really well... brought the rich black back from the dust build up and looks like it really cleaned the fabric.  The sealant I'm not sure about yet, no rain since I did it so time will tell.  Now if Adams brought out a cleaner and sealant I would be all over trying it out and giving it a review. As far as keeping it looking nice, cockpit brush and lint roller works wonders!

I'm new to this and other detailer sites, so I don't know if it's wrong to mention other products, but since Adams doesn't offer one, can't see how it would be bad. I recently bought a 2006 Z4M Roadster with a black top. I wanted to rain proof it, since it had almost NO beading. Researched quite a bit and went with 303 Fabric Guard. It went on easy and now after 6 months, still beads water really nicely.

303 has a full line. It's what Sunbrella endorses. They are a big awning co. When researching I saw many sailors that use them on sails and other applications. They make 303 Aerospace Protectant. It's awesome for UV protection on plastics. My convertible is coated with it on every applicable surface.

Adam has recommended RaggTopp products in the past.  They work great, and are also recommended by convertible top maker HAARTZ.

303 and Ragg Top are the main players. There is a You Tube where a kid does a 1/2 and 1/2 application on a Miata/S2000 top (?) He covers it over a years time. That's what sold me on the 303 Fabric Guard.
