I dont want any that leaves oily residue. From there you can either ceramic coat it for long lasting restoration of color and protection. Or you can use VRT to remoisturize it. It'll probably take a few coats to make it look even. And even then you'll probably still have to reapply it frequently. That will give you the look you're looking for. Ceramic is probably your best option for the least maintenance and residue. 0 frosty350 Posted May 23, 2017 Share Posted May 23, 2017 I agree with the comments above I have a 2011 Yukon and I use the VRT on all the black plastics and it looks good, black and non greasy. But last weekend I cleaned the plastics with Tire & Rubber cleaner and then applied VRT and they look even darker and it seems to last longer. Most certainly! even VRT has done miracles on the worst faded black trim ive ever seen (an OLD corolla, a beaten up VUE)... but yes, the coating method will keep it tidy for MUCH longer! Before I gave it to her I detailed it, I used the ceramic trim coating on all plastic to revive some of the slight fading. It worked great, and looks fantastic.
