Kickerz71
Received my swirl killer today, I'm super excited to give it a try. In the box I had the Allen key for the backing plate and 2 of these, image below. I didn't see in the manual what they are needed for
Ls1transam
My mini came with those. I was wondering what they were for too.
tmevilsizor
These are brushes. They eventually wear out and will need to be replaced. They make the electric motor work. When your motor stops running, you will probably just need to replace these brushes. I think the majority of buffers come with replacement brushes. Thanks, I assume these burn out often enough for them to include 2.
TheWolf
Thanks, I assume these burn out often enough for them to include 2. The motor uses two brushes, one for each pole. When the brushes wear out, then you would replace both. Kickerz71
jessewsmith
They probably didn't include them because they wear out a lot, they probably put them in the box so if they stopped working you would just change them out and not have to wait to get a replacement. It would suck if it happened while doing a vehicle and then have to wait for them to send a replacement. Kickerz71
Kickerz71
Are these covered by warranty?
PostalTwo
Brushes are generally considered a wear item like brakes in a car and are not warranty. For the average enthusiasts they will not wear these out within the warranty period anyway .
