Trim Coating Reapplication

So...I have searched and cannot find this covered anywhere.   What is the process with trim coating after the estimated 2 year life?  Is there a process to remove and reapply, or can you simply clean with the cleaner,  then the trim coat prep and apply over the residual coating?

I know that the ceramic paint coating has to be polished off, so I am curious as to the procedure for Trim coating after it starts to wear.  

Honestly I've had a trim coating kit sitting on the shelf for months now waiting to be used,  but I don't know what I will be dealing with 2 years down the road.

 

If this is covered somewhere please direct me to that topic.

Hi Justin, in all honesty, I've had the trim coating on my vehicle now for 10 months and it still looks just like the day I applied it, so the 2 year estimate might be on the low side.

 

Scrubbing with any type of cleaner doesn't really remove it from my experience - I've sat for quite a long time with a toothbrush and APC and Tire & Rubber Cleaner, and neither put a dent in removing it. If it wears off over time, simply clean and prep the surface again with the Tire & Rubber Cleaner and then Coating Prep, and then re-apply the Ceramic Trim Coating in a nice even layer.

 

The key with Ceramic Trim Coating is making sure that you remove any and all previous trim dressings, cleaners, etc from the surface in order to get an even looking appearance.

That's all I really needed to push me over the edge.  I kinda figured it would just be a re clean and reapply.  Has anyone tried this on Gen 1 Raptor Running boards??
