Strip wash diluted as bug remover

Zach5.9CTD

Question

Hey guys. Just wondering if I could dilute strip wash in a spray bottle to use as a bug remover from my windows, mirrors, grille/bumper and lights. None of which are painted, just glass, plastic n chrome. It works so well during a wash that is like to try it in this manner if it's acceptable to do so. Thanks.

Hi Zach, you could certainly try this, but you will want to dilute it very heavily if putting down into a spray bottle. Make sure to use an HDPE bottle like our 32oz Premium Dilution Bottle as well - Strip Wash can and will eventually eat through the clear plastic PET 16oz bottles. I would say maybe a half ounce or less for the 32 oz bottle. Wash in the shade and do not let it dry onto the surface - Strip Wash can leave some streaking on surfaces if left to dry, and it can be difficult to remove that streaking residue. Make sure to put a new layer of wax or sealant on afterward as well.

Test at your own risk and be aware that it is a strong cleaner designed to be diluted down in a wash formula.

You all must have some really easy bugs. Rinseless doesn't so jack for bug removal for me. Maybe the bugs are just really bad in Kentucky....

Last weekend, I drove from Cincinnati to Michigan for Lingenfelters Cars and Coffee, then from there all the way to Red River Gorge. After getting home Sunday night I had some nasty eastern Kentucky bugs(huge suckers, like flinch when they hit the window). Couldn't wash until Tuesday evening, pressure washer and waterless wash got 99 percent. The last couple I ended up using a soft clay.

I use it as a liberal presoak. By the time I make it back to the bug spot during my two bucket wash, the bugs wipe right off with a wash pad.

Never works like that for me.

My paint does always have Paint Sealant and G&G on it too so I'm sure the slickness also contributes. If that still doesn't work for you, plenty of other companies make dedicated bug cleaners.

Then you're doing it wrong, literally blast the bugs, turn the sprayer to stream and go crazy!
