Dust Nib Attack or Retreat??

cayenne

Question

Found this dust nib on my new Ford Raptor... Contemplating whether I should attempt to fix or just walk away from it. I've fixed these in the past with good success, however the area that this is in makes me think the risk outweighs the reward.

Like most of us, I've chased perfection in the past only to tear up as a grown man, because I went one step too far. OCD is a curse at times. What says the group, sand it down and polish or shove it to the deep, dark recesses of my thoughts?

Personally I'd let it go. That looks pretty big. It would take some wet sanding and polishing. Maybe some more experienced people will chime in on the subject. I've removed some spots like that with sanding and polishing. But they were much smaller. Maybe the pic is making it look bigger than what it really is.

My opinion, I'd leave it. It sucks but I wouldn't risk it with it being right there. 99% of people probably won't even notice it. I'm sure you could take it to the dealership and get it fixed, assuming it's like that from factory. If they screw it up, they will have to get it fixed. But personally, I'd leave it.

I added another picture with a toothpick tip as a size reference. Realized the first example with the touchup brush was hard to tell.

I have them all over my lighting blue F150. They aren't that big but I have 3-5 on every panel. Annoying but I'm afraid to try to remove them. Don't want a bunch of paint chips. I took it to the dealer so they could document them in case the start flaking.

If it's the drivers door and you see it every time you get in, fix it!! If it's another door, leave it!

I agree. That's the first thing I thought. If it's on the passenger or any other door, just let it be. However, if it's on yours, it's gonna be bugging you EVERY TIME you hop on. Sooooo... It's a hard choice, but it if comes down to this, I say just flip a coin.
